Katie Hopkins was catapulted in to the public consciousness as a contestant on BBC One’s The Apprentice in 2006, competing for a £100,000 job working for Lord Alan Sugar.
She made it all the way to the business end of the series – but turned down a place in the grand final, citing a lack of childcare for her daughters.
She was known as the most outspoken contestant, and this trait has been amplified in the last few years, as she’s become a hate figure in the media for her controversial opinions.
Her career as a loudmouth begun in 2013, when she criticised names including Tyler and Chardonnay on ITV’s This Morning. She also voiced disapproval of parents choosing geographical locations as names for their kids – despite calling one of her daughters India.
Since then, she’s done the rounds giving her thoughts on everything from benefits culture to drug addiction. She sparked fury by tweeting about Scottish life expectancy figures in the wake of the Glasgow helicopter tragedy – and recently further irked the Scottish people by criticising them for sending England “Ebola bombs” when an aid worker struck with the deadly disease travelled south for treatment.
Katie has also been vocal on the ‘obesity crisis’ in the UK. Last year she gained four stone in an attempt to prove that it’s easy for fat people to lose weight, with cameras following her for a TLC documentary. My Fat Story went on to become the digital channel’s highest rating show to date.
Seven years after taking part in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Katie has now signed up for Celebrity Big Brother – although it’s not her first time in Britain’s most famous house, as she was a ‘guinea pig’ rehearsal contestant for Channel 4’s very first civilian series in 2000.
The 39-year-old says she’s got absolutely “nothing to prove” to viewers – indeed, she looks set to be as controversial as ever, as she says she’d hate to live with “any fat person”.
“That is quite a broad spectrum. I have no empathy for a fat person,” she claimed. “I hope there might be one person in there who is funny, clever, witty, well-read or who has spent a lifetime performing on the stage.”
Katie isn’t afraid to get in to a heated debate with her fellow housemates – but she’ll be picking and choosing them wisely. “There will be people trying to get their moment of telly by annoying me, so I will swat them away,” she smiles.
“But if you get some people who actually think what they’re saying and believe it, then sure, I’ll probably go for that.”

Then we can assume that Perez will leave the show tonight? Maybe they dont want a crowd outside tonight since they’re taking someone out the back door, so to speak since the crowds might ‘stone’ him or throw eggs at him or something!! But who knows, will see.
Well hope she doesn’t win. Cheggers to win for me..the only decent one in the house. They said he’s on the fence…well its no wonder since he’s too busy cleaning up their crumbs not to mention cleaning up after their p**s and s**t everyday. Your opinion is hardly informed as you just seem set on slagging off Katy Hopkins with your one eyed home spun, self help psychologist views.
If you could just get over yourself you may see that Katy Hopkins has been very right about the overwhelming majority of things in the house.
Having an opinion does not make you a bully, voicing you opinion does not make you a bully, a private conversation with someone talking about your opinion does not make you a bully.

Perez made his bed a long time ago in the house and now he has to lay in it. He acted like a child and was treated like one. And yes Perez was using the ridiculous Nadia as his platform to spew his vulgarity over everyone because she has more balls than he does and with her desperation to be in the middle of EVERYTHING he played her like a fiddle.

Katie Hopkins is a manipulative bully and MUST NOT win big brother. It would be a huge outrage. Callum, Kavana and Michelle are her puppets, they repeat whatever she plants into their mind and I am shocked Michelle who claims to support minority groups would be friends with a bigot. Katie are you so desperate to win you have to twist every situation to suit your own needs. Keith was sad about Cami leaving through the back door, thats all, he was quite willing to admit he nominated her. If you were trying to win on your own merits I would respect you more but you just play dirty and manipulate and twist every situation. Shame on you.
How much does it bother Katie H that CBB is paying Perez more money? Perez is just trying to earn his money entertaining the British public but is seems the only UK show he has seen is Benny Hill. He is going about it in a very childish, stupid way, but no one has ever accused him of brilliance. Katie H tries the intelligent, educated, clever game, but Perez gets under her skin every time. One is as bad as the other, but only one is a home-grown terror. Get them both out
It seems to me that most of Katie Hopkins fans must be stick thin and from southern England with a couple of kids called Petunia and Rupert.
They must be the only section of the British public she’s failed to insult. It doesn’t matter it’s to sell newspapers or enhance her reputation her vile tongue wants stopping.
I’m not particularly a Parez fan but he’ll soon be going back to the States, Katie Hopkins is British and as such should have much more respect for the British public.

By seeming to like Perez there is no fuel for the fire anymore and the quickest way to GET PEREZ OUT.

If Katie had been clever, she would have done that the first week, but instead she blustered and fumed until the last days. The departure of Perez was his own doing.

Katie ruined the show by goading Perez from the start. It shows in the last day that they can easily get on and instead of the constant goading and retaliating, it could have been a fun series. Katie set the pace from the beginning and ruined this series with her negativity and bullying. She is so dominant and opinionated nobody else had a chance to shine.
