James is best known for his role as a professional dancer on hit BBC One talent contest Strictly Come Dancing.
James began taking dance lessons at the age of 10. When he turned 15, he started competing in dance competitions, and by the time he was 21, James was a major finalist in all Open International Competitions and was ranked one of the best in the world.
James met his dancing partner and wife, Ola, at a dancing competition and was mesmerised by the way she danced. Eventually they became dancing partners after travelling to Poland to try-out together. They danced together for a year before they started dating; four years later in 2003, they got married.
In 2006, James joined Strictly for its fourth series alongside Ola. However, it didn’t take long for James to spark a feud with judge Craig Revel Horwood, which resulted in James allegedly storming out of the studios on one occasion when Craig gave him a low score.
On the show, James has been partnered with actresses Georgina Bouzova, Cherie Lunghi, Zöe Lucker and Denise van Outen, presenters Gabby Logan and Alex Jones, media personality Vanessa Feltz and psychologist Pamela Stephenson. James is notorious for his strops and conflicts when faced with negative criticism on camera.
In 2012 it was reported that James and Ola had been dropped from the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour, allegedly due to his behaviour behind the scenes. In June 2014 it was reported that James had been fired from the show after eight series.

I did make a post earlier that perhaps I was tempting fate by wanting Audley or Gary to win – as my last contribution didn’t get very far, I wanted Ashleigh or Chris Wright, but it seems my faith has been restored. Hoorah !
I think Audley is amazing for many reasons, and I hoped he would triumph, but Gary also for many different reasons has been so entertaining.
Mind you I haven’t watched every episode, I felt so let down by civilian BB – plus being busy ! :happy:
But yes its a good outcome. 😀
