In 1997, Audley became the British superheavyweight champion and retained the title in 1998. He then went on to win gold at the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

At the Sydney Olympics in 2000, Audley doubled his gold winnings as an amateur when he defeated Mukhtarkhan Dildabekov and became the first British boxer to win Olympic gold in the superheavyweight division.

After his Olympic gold medal win, Audley was awarded an MBE in 2001 Queen’s New Year’s Honours list for his services to sport.

Audley turned professional in 2001 after signing a £1million contract with BBC Sport for his first 10 professional fights. In May 2001, he began his professional career with a first round victory, closely followed by several other convincing wins.

6ft 6 inch Audley continued his winning streak when he made his US debut in 2003. This led to him permanently relocating to the USA, where he was unbeaten in 11 fights, eight of which were knockout victories.

In December 2005, Audley returned to the UK to face fellow Briton Danny Williams for the Commonwealth title; he stepped in after Williams’ opponent pulled out five weeks before the fight, and lost on a split decision in the match.

After being knocked out by Michael Sprott for the European title in 2007, Audley made his comeback when he defeated him in 2010 and won the European heavyweight title. His only chance to be crowned the world champion, in 2010, was against David Haye for the WBA belt; he was knocked out in the third round.

In a brutal first-round knockout in 2012, Audley was put in hospital with a suspected broken nose and mild concussion; which subsequently led him into early retirement.

Despite this, he extended his career again at the age of 41, winning the Heavyweight Prizefighter event for a second time.

Thought Audley’s comments in the BB chair with regard to James were dignified and intelligent.
He put his case over well as to why he got annoyed with James and George. He redeemed himself by demonstrating a mature response. As regards James during the argument; he showed his usual spiteful nature by trying to goad Audley. James tried to redeem his actions with Audley later on; but it doesn’t wash with me and I know it wont wash with Audley.

Oh and he is still the biggest joke in British boxing over the last 20 years 😀

Personality wise, seems ok from what I have seen though.

    That’s Audley not Audrey .
James shouldn’t have chased after him after he told him he was being disrespectful. No bullying as far as I am concerned just a little man with an oversized ego trying to provoke his superior.@Mairead

Given the opportunity I would be more than a match for her. She wouldn’t understand half of it though as I speak the Queens English and SHe speaks Anglo Saxon. @northernmonkey

I am very new to BB but have to say,I found the recently finished non celeb version far more entertaining than this one.I’ve never seen such attention seeking and childish behaviour.James Jordan is continually looking for a fight, just what is he trying to prove,Gary is still in “acting” mode,Ricci and Lauren feel obliged to fake a love match,Kellie goes into meltdown as soon as they stop discussing her journey and Audley is great.

A week in & I think Audley seems the most chilled out & genuinely nice, with a big heart, seems to get on with everyone.

Absolutely spot on,Audley is intelligent and a gentleman,by far the most deserving person in there, all the rest are desperately seeking attention and camera time, the worst being that oversized child,James Jordan.I wish Audley had bopped him on the nose for being so cheeky, except that that would have meant Audley leaving.Audley to win. 😀 😀

Audley should stick to this showbiz lark because as a boxer he was one big bad joke.
Considering his mediocre boxing career I don’t know why he takes his previous profesion so seriously.

Think his reason for nominating Kellie was discriminatory. Shame he had to say that, wouldn’t get away with it with any other minority group.

I think that’s absolute rubbish Kay. Furthermore I think the producers of BB are out of order to accuse Audley of discriminatory behaviour.

As Audley says, he has known “Kellie” as Frank for over 20 years, in what is a very masculine business, and to suddenly have treat the person as female without feeling slightly uncomfortable about it he finds difficult.

The producers of the show must have known there was a chance of this happening when they deliberately chose Frank/Kellie Maloney and Audley Harrison to be two of the contestants and now to issue a warning to Audley yet allow George to be nominated for having a squeaky voice seems bizarre in the least.

Audley’s only guilty of being honest and it’s a pity that this country has gone so far down the road of political correctness that nobody now is allowed to speak their mind without somebody somewhere taking offence.

Audley I hope you continue as you are and not bite. I loved the way you cut James short after Stephanie and he were outed for discussing nominations. James doesn’t deserve your time and energy so don’t give him any. James likes the sound of his own voice and in reality would never gob off at you if the cameras weren’t there. Stay cool dude!

And your not MEAN like done of the other selfish TRAMPS who are in there !

I would like to add ! I don’t think that audley was being sexist or anything untoward toward kellie , I think he just struggled with the words to explain his feelings on the face to face annominations and F*cked up a bit , but after speaking to big bro I totally get what you mean mate and I think the rest if the nation will aswell ! Kellie can be a real BITCH , I have stuck up for you kellie but NO MORE !
Don’t threaten a mans lively hood over a stupid argument !

Well said weedon. Exactly how I felt.
Totally out of order trying to get Aud to apologise.
Could be construed as BB team members getting upset due to their insecurities.
