Deirdre Kelly, better known as ‘White Dee’, came to public prominence in the Channel 4 documentary Benefits Street. Critics have vilified her as the “patron saint of drug addicts and dropouts”, whereas fans see her as a working-class hero. Dee is a single mother to a son and a daughter.
Until five years ago, Deirdre worked as an administrator for Birmingham City Council, until it was claimed she was being convicted of stealing to fund her then-partner’s drug abuse.
Since then Dee received benefits from the government after claiming she could not work due to suffering from depression.
Since the success of Benefits Street, Dee has received offers from all over the world for appearances in modelling, newspaper columns, cooking, holidays, as well as other television reality shows.
Recently Dee travelled to Magaluf. This resulted in David Cameron personally ordering a probe into her finances after she was photographed enjoying a boozy holiday, despite being ‘too depressed’ to work. Dee no longer claims benefits.

@jennyjuniper Jenny I’ve never seen her before ( didn’t watch benefit street) so don’t know anything about her past or wrong doings. What I see is someone who is quite real and full of flaws like us all who Gary likes to wind up and boy does he get a reaction. – clever Gary.

Not a chance that Dee is being sincere. I find it annoying that if Gary is talking to any other HM James has to appear and always sticks his nose in.
Dee has to go on Wednesday, she is now starting on Gary’s wife how sad and pathetic is that. Surely Big Brother needs to pull her up for saying that about Gary’s Wife its uncalled for.
I’m fuming at Dee’s comments to Edele about Gary’s wife and his letter, with hatred written all over her face. Disgraceful & disrespectful.

The way dee has behaved really gets me annoyed , I think she has cottoned on that the public love Gary and she’s afraid to look bad now the end is near ! TOO LITTLE TO LATE DEE and slating Gary’s wife behind his back after licking around him ??????

Just read on another site a woman says that she watched Benefits Street and can’t understand why Dee keeps going on about hygene (Gary’s) because in the Street Dee’s house was filthy :doh:
By the way, in case you haven’t seen it, there’s a poll on the BB site saying ‘who is the most popular’ etc., Gary and Audley have all my positive votes and James, Dee and George the least, whioch will come as no suprise to you. 😀
Dee and all of them in there I do not think that Lauren is that bad but the way they treat Gary is a just bad bad and I cannot understand why Big Brother lets it go on nowhere would any one person have to take nightly abuse from a gang. People say there is a big stress on bullying now and we witness this nightly. I will be honest I just cannot watch that poor misfortunate man being abused I just cant it it was me I would not be able to be as gracious as he is he must have nerves of steel. Imagine any other nation looking at this what do they think of the UK for allowing this degrading of a human being. I cannot talk anymore I cannot even think about it.
I am Irish and Scots nationality and when I look at Edele I cringe with her horrible accent. Obviously a cheap Dublin accent. I never heard of her and despise here and hate to align myself as an Irish person to that b**ch. Sorry cannot help myself. George is the worst of all he is just a sly sly creep.

Thought was ok till she went in to big brother. Her claim to fame on benifits street was she is a caring .concerned woman regards the other residants. She is cruel.nasty fat looks like she needs a bath and is guilty of elderly abuse her relationship with ricci is strange and disturbing to watch she will win emma and the big brother will make sure of this Dont vote and encourage big brother to make fools of you and take your voting monie to help support the likes of helen wood and and fat pig dee white

I tend to agree with you. At least James and Dee are openly nasty, but George smirks and stays in the background and pretends he’s not sticking the boot in, even though he encourages others to do it. Nasty piece of work.
I too am over George and his grating drawl. I agree he is sly and can be quite cruel in the way he treats Gary and his smirk is really getting to me now. As for Dee words fail me, I just want her off my screen and I will never watch anything she appears in after BB. If she wins it will be the Helen fiasco all over again and I will be finished with Bb.

I don’t think you will be on your own either. In fact if that slug wins BB and CBB will lose thousands of viewers, because they will realise that it’s pointless to vote, when someone so hated can win.
I know Helen Wood was hated and I still think a lot of people were decieved by the favouritism and creative editing, not to mention the free pass, which got her to the winning post, but Dee is another kettle of fish. Hopefully she is out of those doors tonight with either James or George alongside her.

@jennyjuniper Agree totally with your comments. It would be a travesty if Dee won. I am still in shock over the way Ricci fell off the bed with her the other night. One minute she is calling him one of her babies and the next he can’t keep his hands off her! What a weird relationship he has with her!! She has to go tonight along with that awful George. Or James, or Ricci, or any of them other than Audley and Gary!!

Dee is someone that wants to fight all the time, she
comes across as very argumanative, the least
thing sets her off and poor gary seem to get
shouted at and put down.
