Carol McGiffin is best known as a regular panellist on daytime talk show Loose Women. She married Chris Evans in 1991 and the couple separated in 1994 and divorced in 1998. She is now engaged to Mark Cassidy who is 22 years younger than her. She’s not shy of tabloid attention and has admitted to loving a few drinks and a good party.
Carol started her broadcasting career in 1988 as co-host of the Chris Evans shows on GLR. Then in 1995 she became the founding member of the Talk Radio UK team, co-presenting the popular weekday evening show The Rude Awakening. When the show ended in September 1995 she became the station’s music expert, hosting her own Friday evening review slot.
In 1996 Carol began co-hosting the breakfast show with Richard Skinner on Liberty Radio. Then in 1997 she reappeared on Talk Radio on the Friday breakfast show with Paul Ross. Within a few weeks she was joining Paul on Monday to Thursday, as well as co-hosting a Saturday afternoon show during the summer.
In 1999 she joined London radio station LBC teaming up with Nick Abbot. Abbot left the station after six months and McGiffin continued to host the show on her own with its producer and sidekicks until 30th September 2000. She has also co-hosted phone-in shows on BBC London Live.
Carol then joined Live Talk in 2000 and was a regular from the start to finish. Carol returned to the rebranded version of Live Talk, Loose Women, in 2003, where she has been a regular ever since. She is the longest-serving panellist on the show to date.

Tragic old soak. I have not watched Loose Women for many years, but when I have seen clips, it seems a poor version of it’s former self. I remember watching Kay Adams, Karen Brady and Jane Moore. Today’s version is dumbed -down and bawdy by comparison. Carol is a sad example of what the program has become.
It never fails to amaze me how many people can force themselves to be with unattractive people, as long as that person has money. I had thought that maybe Carol had a nice personality, but after watching this I think not.
What a vile bitter old slag. Her (and Louie) use “telling it like it is” as an excuse to hurt and bully anyone that they don’t like. Can’t believe that the hypocrite has the nerve to be pissed at Dustin for hiding some peanut butter when she’s been hiding bottles of booze from the other housemates for days. Watch when she comes back, she’ll wind up Louie against Dustin for hiding some food, while both those hypocrites have been hiding wine from the other housemates. The only good thing that I can think about regarding Carol is that she is the same of most of the others on Booze women in that she, too, has a problem.
Hers, again similar to others on Booze women is booze. I feel that I would not contradict Louie when he says that she is an alcoholic.

Glad this series is only 3 weeks. Having to take 3 months of the repugnant Carol Mcgiffin & I would have kicked the TV in. She’s not remotely funny, just a smug, mean spirited, bully. Just looking at her makes me feel sick to the stomach, anyone who finds her behaviour somehow endearing is probably of the same mindset as this atrocious woman :down: :down: :down:
