Julie Goodyear is a soap opera legend most famous for her character, Bet Lynch in the world’s longest running soap, Coronation Street.
In 1995, after winning the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her role as Bet Lynch in the first ever National Television Awards, Julie quit the soap.
Julie was awarded the M.B.E. (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 1996 ‘For services to Television Drama.’
In 1979 during a routine check up Julie discovered she had cervical cancer, she had two major operations. In typical fighting spirit, she fought her illness and made a full recovery. The Julie Goodyear Laboratory, which her charity supports now, operates at The Christie Hospital, Manchester.
Julie openly discussed her relationship with men and women in her autobiography ‘Just Julie,’ in November 2006. Her sexuality became news, after experiencing many kiss and tell stories from her partners. Julie freely admits she makes very wrong decisions sometimes and trusts the wrong people.
After a couple of her failed relationships, Julie has actually employed her ex partners. After the relationship ended with Vicky Claffey, Vicky became her PA and Janet Ross is now her housekeeper.
In 2007 Julie then aged 65, married long time boyfriend and ex-stalker Scott Brand, 39, in an intimate ceremony. She met Scott when he used to sit in a tree outside her house watching her. She slowly grew fond of him over time and realised he want to protect her and genuinely loved her.
Their wedding reception was attended by the Duchess of York, Charlotte Church, Clive Owen and members of Duran Duran.
Most recently in May 2012, Julie starred in the Coronation Street musical, ‘Street Of Dreams’ a musical interpretation of the famous soap, playing homage to its most well loved characters from the past. It boasted camp costumes, upbeat and original show tunes.
She honestly believes she is above nomination and is being bullied. Arrogant horrible foul mouthed etc.etc.etc.

I am praying soooo hard that the public have voted to keep Martin in over Julie. I am sick of seeing her say how giving she is when in fact she’s the most selfish person I’ve ever seen. Last night’s show she had a freshly lit cigarette when the rest of the HMs discovered Harvey was given a pack by BB; and when they started looking for a lighter she high-tailed it into the bedroom refusing to let them use her’s… including her most trusted friend (and personal slave) Julian. Would it really have killed her?!? Tonight, she was furious that Mike didn’t offer her a sandwich. The poor guy only made two… one for himself and the other for anyone who wanted it, but wound up giving away four halves and he went without. Not good enough for the queen who can’t even make her own cup of tea, she’s got the whole house bowing down to her every need… I’m surprised she doesn’t have one of them spoon-feeding her meals to her, and the rest of them (it would take them ALL) raising and lowering the cigarette to her mouth. She isn’t even kind enough to say ‘thank you’ to any one other than Julian for all that they do for her.

Agree entirely. She has only been herself though. She has always had a very dubious personal reputation and was not hiding behind Bet Lynch in the house. Didn’t expect anything other than the behaviour she displayed.Pity really because she has a great wit which is overshadowed.

Disgusted at Julie claiming to be disabled, iv a son paralysed from the neck down, thats disabled. She is just highlighting the wasters claiming disability . Excellent job Julie, lol your a +1 :up:

its on DLA website,,, that it is based on how long it takes someone to walk a set distance set down by the DLA. throw a crisp £100 note in to the wind i say and see who gets it. 😀

We all have to get old, awful things happen to us (some of us) How refreshing to see Julie rising above all that.Everyone with a brain could see she is the rightful winner of C.B/Brother 012.
Julie might not be the nicest person in the world. But I would choose her over Coleen any day.Her moaning, self pity and smugness is nauseating. As for the way Coleen creeps around the men its no wonder she thought Danica was doing no wrong in the house!
Half this fricking country suffers from some form of arthritis…..how come julie’s has made her dissabled. we and the people who decide on a persons dissability have just seen her doing everything.

Having observed her motor skills I think it is a little exaggeration to use the term disabled. More sympathy seeking and a useful tool for emotional blackmail.remember her lying on the bed and raising her leg to her head. Utterly revolting view of her undercarriage but very nimble for a seventy year old.
Goodyear is a foul mouthed, selfish to the core ungrateful harridan. She needs help to wash her hair? Come on. She had no problem at all lifting her arms above her head to check the newsreader wig was in place and she could lift her legs into yoga type positions with no problem at all.
Her nasty comments behind the backs of other husemates shows that she’s “Just Julie” alright! Too cowardly and manipulative to say nasty things to people’s faces.
What a travesty she is. She gives pensioners a bad name!

What a terrible comment. Not all disabilities are visible, not every disabled person uses a wheelchair!!!! Just goes to show the ignorance of some people surrounding invisible disabilities. The definition of disabled – Having a physical or mental condition that limits movements, senses, or activities. I have M.E and Fibromyalgia, and although you cannot ‘see’ my illness, it is severely debilitating and i am registered disabled with a blue badge because of my limited mobility. I find your comment very offensive. @Ken gibson
