Julie Goodyear is a soap opera legend most famous for her character, Bet Lynch in the world’s longest running soap, Coronation Street.
In 1995, after winning the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her role as Bet Lynch in the first ever National Television Awards, Julie quit the soap.
Julie was awarded the M.B.E. (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 1996 ‘For services to Television Drama.’
In 1979 during a routine check up Julie discovered she had cervical cancer, she had two major operations. In typical fighting spirit, she fought her illness and made a full recovery. The Julie Goodyear Laboratory, which her charity supports now, operates at The Christie Hospital, Manchester.
Julie openly discussed her relationship with men and women in her autobiography ‘Just Julie,’ in November 2006. Her sexuality became news, after experiencing many kiss and tell stories from her partners. Julie freely admits she makes very wrong decisions sometimes and trusts the wrong people.
After a couple of her failed relationships, Julie has actually employed her ex partners. After the relationship ended with Vicky Claffey, Vicky became her PA and Janet Ross is now her housekeeper.
In 2007 Julie then aged 65, married long time boyfriend and ex-stalker Scott Brand, 39, in an intimate ceremony. She met Scott when he used to sit in a tree outside her house watching her. She slowly grew fond of him over time and realised he want to protect her and genuinely loved her.
Their wedding reception was attended by the Duchess of York, Charlotte Church, Clive Owen and members of Duran Duran.
Most recently in May 2012, Julie starred in the Coronation Street musical, ‘Street Of Dreams’ a musical interpretation of the famous soap, playing homage to its most well loved characters from the past. It boasted camp costumes, upbeat and original show tunes.
Iam glad Julie is on CBB she made me laugh and thought she and Cheryl was funny with their secret task haha 😀

I used to like her but i’ve totally gone off her now. It was obvious she was going to nominate coleen as her second nomination but she kept saying she was waiting for a sign from god or some random crap like that -.-
I did like her but there is something not right now. i’m not to sure. I don’t want her to win.
I think a lot of people are thinking that Julie is not honest because she tried to be supportive to Jasmine and Rhian, when it was obvious that the two couldn’t stand each other. But it is possible to like two people, even when they don’t like each other. In the outside world you can keep such friendships seperate, not so in the house. And if she is trying to be liked by everyone, is that such a crime?? I would imagine in such a claustraphobic atmosphere as the house it’s either get along with everyone or be a lone wolf. I’m glad Julie has Julian and Harvey to look after her. I don’t think Julie will win, but I hope she is in the final three, along with Julian and Harvey or Martin.
julies not stupid ,she has gone in the house to survive. .dont forget she is an actress and i guess a great person whether this is game play or not she seems totaly at ease and enjoying the situation ,i cant help thinking when house mates are all upset and she comforts fhem she is thinking (silly buggers its only a game pull your selves together)

Julie is a horrible, manipulative, vulgar cow. She talks utter tripe to people- loves everyone? not.It’s such a pity because she also has a very funny side which is ruined by her p— taking of other people.Martin Kemp has had the nerve to speak out about her today thank goodness.

She is a horrible liar. Please play her the custard pie scene and show the others what a liar she is. She ‘s had a problem with Coleen since day1.Fear of the competition maybe? Coleen’s sister on BBOTS had clashed with Julie , as have a lot of people, and I think she is taking this out on Coleen.
@irene pearson I agree. Coleen looked like she put the pie on her face slowly so it didn’t hurt and for god sake lady its a pie. I think she remembers Coleen because she actually put the full pie on her face not a little like the rest were doing to her.
