Kavana – or Anthony Kavanagh – was best known in the mid to late 90s as a popstar. He was signed to Virgin Records, and became friends with his then-labelmates the Spice Girls after going on tour with them.
After two singles in 1996, he released his biggest smash, ‘I Can Make You Feel Good’, which reached number eight in the chart. Follow-up ‘MFEO’ also made the top ten, but after his albums and future singles only achieved moderate success, he was dropped by his label.
In 2007, after a recurring role in Hollyoaks: In The City the previous year, he took part in Simon Cowell musical talent show Grease Is The Word – and was eventually voted one of the runners-up.
He went on to audition for BBC One’s The Voice UK in 2013 – but he was turned down at the Blind Auditions round by coaches Will.i.am, Tom Jones, Jessie J and Danny O’Donoghue.
Last year, Kavana was a participant on ITV2’s The Big Reunion, forming supergroup 5th Story with Gareth Gates, Adam Rickitt, and former Celebrity Big Brother contestants Kenzie and Dane Bowers. They went on an arena tour with fellow boybands Five, 911, Blue, A1, 3T and Damage in October. During his time on The Big Reunion, he came out as gay.
The 37-year-old has now signed up for CBB himself, as “it’s January and I wasn’t doing anything”. He says it’ll be different to his previous reality TV endeavours as “you’ve got to be mindful of what you’re doing – even little habits, like if you pick your nose, you can’t be like that 24 hours a day”.
Kavana’s ideal housemate would be his “good pal”, actress Suranne Jones, as “we always have a good laugh” – but he dreads not being able to sleep in the house, saying: “I’m quite a light sleeper and it worries me that with all those other people in one room there will be snoring!”
Reminds me of that fella from goggle box who was on the last cbb.. who is he ?
😀 @Dori
Yes, you mean George with the squeaky voice.
I can not believe he is not being his self and being a bad boy like he was in that band show :down:
Probably ur last claim to fame kav. Maybe not many more chances after this so can u actually do somethink
I suppose I should be cheering him on with him being a Manc, but he has showed nothing yet.
Though the drama with Ken and Jeremy ( sounds like icecream ) has overshadowed everything else really.
mr insignificant
Who?
Oh does he speak
He is so boring
@millyx to be fair he can’t be that boring the HMs all seem to like him and with all the other drama going on he’s probably ended up on the cutting room floor like many other housemates,just because someone doesn’t like getting into arguments doesn’t mean that they’re boring
My god this idiot is so boring
i forgot this idiot was even in the house hes so irrelvant
He seems the most normal person in the house xD
He works better than night nurse :down:
What a nasty piece of work he is. Showing his true colours tonight, and not making a good showing in my opinion. I have never heard of him, and from what I’ve seen tonight don’t care if I hear of him again.
What a gobshite being mean to Keith
@Chris Bolton
I know. Notice how he went for the easy target as well, f*ing pussy. Guarantee he wouldn’t have talked like that to Alexander.
He’s been getting more airtime recently and I’m really liking the little bits we get to see of him. Can’t believe he’s not more popular than he is.
@Sam2
To his defence, anyone would’ve gone for the easy target but the main reason he went for Keith is because he’s had enough of Keith telling him what to do and Keith warning him not to drink before going to the DR was the final straw.
Is there anything more embarrassing than an aggressive drunk? Lets see him pick on one of the loud mouths in the house.
What a prat.
So it speaks when its drunk. Or should I say it goes on the attack when its drunk . who was he anyway.
@Sam2
:up:
Horrible what you said to Keith pathetic nobody GET KAVANA OUT :down:
@Jacksy
I totally agree with you a bit of Dutch courage and he thinks he’s a big man
@Lisa
But don’t we all ? 😉 I have to admit I laughed at him rabbiting on, and poor Keith all bewildered at why he was picked on. :conf:
