While Big Brother 10 is performing better than its predecessor, none of the episodes have achieved the same viewership as Big Brother 8. Viewers seem to be bitter after Big Brother 9.

Two weeks into Big Brother 10 the ratings have shown improvement with most of the audience returning for each episode. While Big Brother 10 is performing consistently, the “back to basics” season hasn’t reached the level of viewership enjoyed by Big Brother 8 which aired last summer.

While Big Brother 9 faced more competition mainly from American Idol the season turned out to be a ratings disaster plus a season panned my some fans. Out of ten seasons only Big Brother 1 and Big Brother 9 experienced high launches followed by dropping ratings and a disastrous performance. Big Brother 9 earned the title of being the least watched season to date.

In an effort to bring back viewers producers made changes to Big Brother 10 in hopes it can bring viewers back to the show like Big Brother 2 did in 2001. For the first time in seven seasons everyone is complete strangers, live audience returns after a nine seasons, and there are 13 houseguests this season. While Big Brother 10 continues to draw modest ratings, the performance has improved.

As of July 23, Big Brother 10 has experienced one major ratings drop unlike Big Brother 9 which experienced several major rating drops by the fifth episode. BB10 continues to improve in the key 18-49 demographic, with episodes 2-5 pulling higher demo ratings than episodes 2-5 of BB9.
