Big Brother 10 continues to improve on each night it airs versus repeats of other CBS programming but numbers are still down from Big Brother 8.
The first Tuesday episode which featured the Power of Veto and one of the most interesting acts of the housemates turning on one another only attracted 6.13m viewers and a 2.2/6 in the 18-49 demographic. While the show was down only .16m viewers from its premiere on Sunday. Big Brother was up against an All-Star MLB game on Fox which attracted 15.16m viewers and America’s Got Talent on NBC which attracted 12.53m viewers.
The first eviction of the season and the first to sport a live audience for the first time since Big Brother 1 only attracted 5.91m viewers and a 1.9/6 in the 18-49 demographic. Despite dropping only .22m viewers, the first eviction of Big Brother 10 attracted a larger crowed of 18-49 year olds versus reruns of Price is Right Million Dollar Spectacular. The first eviction of BB10 managed to beat the first pre-recorded eviction and the first live eviction of Big Brother 9 in overnight viewers.
Despite the lower than usual numbers, so far Big Brother 10 is very successful at bringing back the younger crowed to CBS. CBS normally doesn’t attract younger viewers during the summer with its repeats of popular fall programming. And unlike Big Brother 9, the current installment has managed to retain most of its audience from episode to episode.
How will the next week perform in the ratings?

I guess this is some good news. I wish they did more with the audience though. Hopefully thinks improve as the season goes on.
