Big Brother 11 USA Updates
All the pre-BBUSA news in a nice little article.
big-brother-11-usa-updates

Tickets are now available for the weekly live eviction shows. Last year CBS brought back the live audience to Big Brother 10 USA after an eight season hiatus.

This year tickets will be available from On Camera Audience which specializes in live reality shows (American Idol, America’s Got Talent, etc). Last year tickets for the live shows were available from Audience Unlimited which focuses on scripted comedy shows shot in front of a live audience. The first live eviction will be July 16, 2009.

RealNetworks, the provider for the live Internet feeds, has officially released the early bird promotion offer and new features regarding the live Internet feeds. Features for the revamped live feeds include:

  • New Player, Viewers can watch a single camera or the quad cam, while watching one camera viewers can see what is going on another camera with real time previews.
  • Flashback, allows viewers instant access to any moment during the season.
  • New Big Brother Talk Show, Catch exclusive broadcasts to get the latest BB buzz, chat with former houseguests, and more.
  • HouseGuest Connect, Meet houseguests and fans at reunions, live events, follow Twitter and Facebook feeds and more.
  • Live Interviews, RealNetworks interviews HouseGuests with questions from the viewing public.

A recent CBS advert has revealed that 12 HouseGuests will enter the Big Brother House this year. This will be the second season that will feature less HouseGuests than its predecessor. The last season to feature 12 HouseGuests was Big Brother 3. Prior to the CBS advert a radio show claimed 16 HouseGuests would enter.

An interview (click to listen) with executive producer Allison Grodner on the John Jay & Rich Show revealed some details regarding the upcoming season, key points are:

  • A lot of interesting people that work in various platforms (television, Internet media, print) were in the House for Media Day. “Some fun people, really interesting.” She indicated the footage would be released shortly.
  • The HouseGuests have been chosen “Everyone is in. We’ve got a cast, we’ve got the twist, the new house. It’s exciting.”
  • She states this season would be different from past seasons and the twist is unique. I think everyone will be able to identify with this twist. That is all I can tell you. There’s also something else happening on premiere night that’s unprecedented that will be alot of fun. You’re going to hear more and more about this as we approach the premiere date.” She said she could not reveal any more information regarding the twist until the HouseGuest are sequestered.
  • The House this year is a moderen, eco-friendly house.
  • Julie will present the show for the entire duration despite her pregnancy. She jokes that Julie’s baby will be the surprise 14th HouseGuest. (This has sparked HouseGuests rumors again since CBS has only confirmed 12 at this point.)

RealityBBQ, a USA fansite, has received the first tidbits from anonymous forum poster CornerOffice. CornerOffice has posted various tidbits prior to the start of Big Brother which have been true when revealed on launch night. He previously leaked the twists of Big Brother 8 before CBS began to promote the “worst nemises” twist and the America’s Player twist of BB8 was revealed on launch night.

CornerOffice has revealed a tidbit regarding the twist “As far as the twist, I’ll ask you a question. What clique were you part of in High School?” He/she also revealed that the HouseGuests will enter the House on July 5.

CornerOffice’s recent update said “The 12 House Guests who haven’t been in the house before will be sequestered on Sunday.”

This has caused speculation over at various USA fansites about former HouseGuests returning for Big Brother 11. Another fansite, We Love Big Brother, has posted that Sheila, a HouseGuest in Big Brother 9, posted in her blog that she has to find a dogsitter for three months and she has two days to find one. The site was also trying to line up interviews with past HouseGuests which one also told the site that they would be traveling for three months.

Aside from the confirmed information, always take rumors and speculation with a grain of salt.

Big Brother 11 USA premieres on July 9th at 8 PM on CBS and Global in the United States and Canada. Big Brother: After Dark will return on July 9th at Midnight on Showtime 2.

I’ve never really followed BBUSA before, but I’m gonna try this year!:D

Is it available to watch on British or Irish tv?

Stu says: July 9, 2009 @ 10:39 pm

Who’s interested BBUSA, I’m defo not

Josh says: July 9, 2009 @ 10:40 pm

@Ivan, BB11 USA won’t be available on British/Irish TV this year because it clashes with BB10 UK. E4 only shows series of BB USA when BB UK is off-air like they did with BB4 USA and BB9 USA. There are people who upload the show on YouTube and other sites.

@Stu, while you may not be interested in BB USA, there are people who are interested in BB USA.

Ok, cheers Josh.

As happens every year, rumours now the house will be divided into “haves” and “have-nots”.

I’m so excited for this! Last season was amazing. Not only was there more drama than the BBUK house, but it wasn’t boring either. I’m hoping this season is just as good.

BBUSA is always a great alternative when there is an awful BBUK series airing.

As an American, I must say I prefer the UK version much more, but I am chuffed that Brits enjoy ours. Cheers guys!

how can i watch big brother usa when it starts if i am in the uk

Josh says: July 9, 2009 @ 10:42 pm

Louise I think I mentioned this in an earlier comment, people who don’t live in the USA or Canada can watch BBUSA via YouTube and other sites (that I can’t mention here). There is always one or more people who upload the current season on YouTube. Most uploaders have the episodes up 12-24 hours after it broadcasts on either CBS or Global.
