Big Brother USA’s upcoming fall season will be shown exclusively on internet streaming service CBS All Access, it is reported.

Last week Reality Blurred revealed that the nineteenth season of BBUSA would air outside its usual summer schedule, with casting already underway.

Now Deadline has given us more details on what to expect, claiming that BB19 will go out exclusively on CBS All Access and start just days after the ongoing eighteenth season finishes in September.

It is set to last ten weeks, shorter than the now-typical 14-week run, and will be made by the same production team as usual.

Deadline added that the 24-hour live feeds will remain. They have been part of CBS All Access since last year and are seen as one of its most popular features.

Further details are unclear, such as how evictions will be presented, whether host Julie Chen will be involved, or whether the prize fund will remain at US$500,000.

It is also unclear whether the new season would be available in Canada, where Global has aired BBUSA since its inception in 2000.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter adds that the online edition would be an expansion of the franchise, with CBS continuing to air regular seasons in summer on its broadcast network. BB18 is the last season guaranteed under its current deal for the format, with a renewal expected shortly.

CBS has yet to officially confirm any of the news, but the company is due to appear at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour next week.

If Big Brother does make the move to CBS All Access, it will be the first of CBS’s broadcast properties to air a season exclusively online, and it will also be the first show of its kind on a streaming service in the US.

It would also make BBUSA the second version of Big Brother to be produced for an online platform, after Big Brother China.

Not even more of this messy version…. they should just get in touch with the BBCanada production team and have them run it. The US version is so bad now.
