CBS is planning to air the nineteenth season of Big Brother USA as soon as this fall, according to a report.

The show is currently midway through its eighteenth run, but execs have already put out casting calls seeking future houseguests.

According to respected blog Reality Blurred, this is because CBS is quietly plotting to air BB19 this fall – and could even launch it as soon as September, when BB18 is slated to end.

However, it is unclear where Big Brother would fit in the broadcaster’s fall schedule, which is already jam-packed. Reality Blurred speculates that the next season could air on sister-channel Pop, or may even be exclusive to CBS’s ‘All Access’ streaming service.

If the rumour is true, it would make BB19 only the second season to air outside of summer – and the first at CBS’s will.

Since it began in 2000, Big Brother has been a staple of CBS’s summer line-up. The only exception was the ninth season, which was ordered as a last-minute slot filler for Spring 2008 – when regular scripted programming was forced off air due to the writers’ strike.
