Former boyband star Dane has been voted the runner-up in this year’s Celebrity Big Brother, coming second to Alex.
The Another Level singer recieved 34.1% of the final vote. He congratulated Alex and hugged him before leaving the house to more big cheers from the crowd as the Kasabian song ‘Fire’ played.
Discussing the results with Davina in his interview, he said: “A couple of times you think, ‘oh God, I could win it!’, but I had my lineup. I thought I could come third, so second is brilliant.
“I think a lot of us are very, very happy Alex won. The last couple of days I thought I’d like to see him win it for various reasons. Now he’s his own man and can come out with a fresh new start.”
On his growth in confidence during the show, he said: “I was quiet at the beginning.
“I did start getting a bit more confident. I will actually say thanks to the housemates. It did make me feel a bit better. I started forgetting and singing about the house.”
“I was happy I got to cook. I missed cooking more than I thought I would. I suppose the only reason people could see more of me was because I was doing that.”
Quizzed on his Tree of Temptation task, he replied: “It was hard, the key’s a bitch! I loved it, it was great fun.”
Dane ended by summing up his time in the house: “I can honestly say I’ve absolutely loved it. I even said at one point I even loved the punishments.
“Maybe I have a bit more confidence. I’m actually now itching to work.”
