Culture Club singer Boy George has claimed that he isn’t taking part in Celebrity Big Brother 2012 on his Twitter page.

It was previously claimed that the 80s star- real name George O’Dowd – had demanded a £1million fee to appear. But today he refuted the reports and said he’d be performing abroad with his band instead.

“I’m absolutely not going into CBB! But I am looking forward to Dubai & Australia with Culture Club!” he wrote.

The news comes just over two years since the High Court banned O’Dowd from entering the final Channel 4 series of the show while he was on probation for falsely imprisoning a male escort.

Celebrity Big Brother 2012 begins on January 5th at 9.00pm on Channel 5.
