Channel 5 has confirmed that Celebrity Big Brother 2012 will kick off with a two-hour launch show at 9.00pm on Thursday January 5th.
The Brian Dowling-hosted special will see a number of stars enter Britain’s most famous house for the first time. It is thirty minutes longer than both the Celebrity Big Brother and Big Brother 2011 launches.
Spin-off show Big Brother’s Bit On The Side is on for an hour immediately afterwards at 11.00pm, with Emma Willis back as presenter after the birth of her second child Ace Billy at the end of last month.
The first highlights show airs at 9.00pm on Friday 6th, with Bit On The Side following on C5 at 11.00pm.
Fans will also be able to watch all episodes an hour later on the new Channel 5+1 service, available on Freeview 44, Sky 177, and Freesat 128. It will arrive on Virgin Media next year.
Meanwhile, narrator Marcus Bentley has hinted on his Twitter page that the new series will end on Friday 27th January, which would make it 23 days long.
I hope its a bit longer than 23 days – CBB always finishes too early!

i hope big brother the main series doesnt start straight away after the celeb series as viewers get bored of it and then at least it gives producers more time to change the house/theme and more time for ideas/tasks twists advertising etc, more planning is needed
dont rush it this year! have a break a month in between at least??
