Actress and Loose Women panellist Denise Welch has been crowned the winner of Channel 5′s second series of Celebrity Big Brother.
The 53-year-old pipped bookies’ favourite Frankie Cocozza to the top spot with the majority of the vote to win. She left the house to a positive crowd reception, as well as the typical display of sparks and fireworks.
“Do you know, I’m not gonna be modest, it feels bloody brilliant!” she joked in her interview with host Brian Dowling. “I don’t think I’ve ever been as lost for words.”
Brian wasted no time in asking her about Pantsgate. “I meant what I said, I just regretted the way I said it,” said Denise. “Because I’d bottled everything up, a few sherries later, it came out, so I apologised for the way I said it. There were a couple of things hurting me and I’m not very good at saying them.”
Moving on to her relationship with Michael Madsen, she commented: “Till the day I die I will not understand that man.Some of the best laughs I had in the house were with Michael when we were talking, but it’s made me learn that not everybodys gonna like me. I’m a pathetic people pleaser.
“I tried to chip away and get to know him and why he was feeling this way about me. Didn’t work!”
Denise then revealed what we all wanted to know – the story behind her hot tub strip! “I was just trying to prove to the twins that you don’t need a boob job, do you know what I mean?” she laughed.
“I did regret it afterwards, but do you know, it was Frankie and Kirk. They brought so much life to the house for me and I felt they should benefit from seeing an older woman naked in a hot tub!”
The former Coronation Street star ended by revealing what she’ll take away from her Big Brother experience. “I can’t please all the people all the time. I think I need to confront situations before they escalate.
“I love not waking up with a hangover!”

@mike new You know, it’s fair if you don’t think Denis is a worthy winner. But putting phrases like “the great Michael Madsen” just makes you look a bit like a sore loser in the end.
Well im really pleased Denice won she was very entertaining and a down to earth northern lass.
Okay so I wanted Frankie to win but really pleased for Denise! She really did bring a lot to the series! And who would have thought that Channel 5′s ‘younger, sexier BB’ would have seen a 53-year-old win!! NICE ONE DENISE! X

nicola clearly still has the hump judging by the way she pulled her arm away when Denise grabbed it to dance with her at the end of Bit on the side. The twin’s were as rude as Michael talking and laughing when Denise was answering Emma’s questions, and Nicola sat glaring at her. She deserved to win after being bullied by those 4.
“Bullied” is an overused term in BB fandom, expecially as most of the house were on Denise’s side. She can look after herself anyway.
It won her the show. If Nicola had taken Karissa out into the garden to cool off Gareth would probably have won.

Well, at least that was avoided then. Gareth would’ve been a poor winner. BBUK has had too many nice but dull winners that really drag a series down at the end. Denise may not be a saint, but she contributed greatly to the series and was a major character. It’s great to see somewhat of a controversial character win as it happens so rarely.

Denise was not entertaining, she was very sad to watch, she crumbled a little bit more every day and realising this herself she desperately put the blame on everyone else. I genuinely do think it was a fix, cos if she had losses her job with ‘loose women’ which looks likely then winning is a little bit of pension for her
i KNEW people would say its a fix, get over yourselves for gods sake, you don’t speak for the rest of the public who actually liked her and voted in for her to win, thats that NICE ONE DENISE.
Also it would be classed as fraud if it was a fix, i don’t think channel 5 would risk everything on voting, people have different views so stop making out that everyone should think the same way you lot do and thats to johno Inno1985 and scott everyone have different opinions on her more people liked her and thats why she won, get over yourself.
SO PLEASED DENSIE WON!!!! Just because frankie came across as cool denise had a more of a rollercoasrter time and she deserved it!
I was glad that Denise won – as she has been so entertaining to watch, with massive highs and lows. I was hugely disappointed by how she acted in Big Brother’s Bit on the Side after the win though – when she was vile and rude to Michael Madsen, and was he even talking anyway? Her feelings about him are far more hot and cold than his ever were – and that is her problem, not his. She really showed her true colours there – and not in a good way.
The “fix” comments mean nothing at this point. They’ve become such a tradition with programs like this that you’d be surprised if they didn’t come up at the end of a series.
It doesn’t matter if you’re happy or disappointed that Denise won. Pick either side (or even neutral) and discuss and debate all you’d like. You don’t have to like her or the result. Perhaps you had a favorite you wanted to win. Fair enough.
But calling “fix” basically diminishes the validity of your opinion by about 120%.
I was cringing when she just stood at the bottom of those stairs waiting to be told lol!
But well done Denise, she fully deserved it and I’m glad she told that Michael, who sounds like a pig, to f*ck off!

Michael was being rude to Denise so Denise hed every right to be angry with him.

As host Emma Willis quizzed Welch on her time in the house, the Reservoir Dogs actor began to snore loudly, disrupting her flow.
She said: “Michael, I know you’re snoring, and that’s just rude. I think it’s bad sportsmanship Michael, you know what I mean?”
After Madsen warned her to “take it easy”, Welch told him to f**k off”, before Willis tried to revert the subject back to Welch’s victory.

I understand why Denise was angry with Michael because she was just talking to Emma Willis when Michael thought it was OK to be rude by pretending to snore loudly and then the twins started laughing thinking its funny acting childish. Such bullys!!!!
But no Sue and other haters will once again blame everything on Denise and not get the full story of what happened on BBBOTS as whatever Denise does everything must be her fault and no one else.

so apparently it’s hilarious for denise to go around the house like a drunken paranoid fool, pulling peoples trousers down and making a general ass of herself,and then revert back to ‘noone understands my sense of humour’ crap, but when people make fun of her (ie snoring), they are big american bullies……..grow up ffs. she’s an embarassment to uk…..
No Denise wasnt the only one to get drunk in the CBB house as others did too and they made fools of themselfs but no mention of them getting drunk and making fools of themselfs. I know what lets just only mention Denise gettting drunk and judge only her as the haters dont know her 100% but its easy to just blame everything on Denise and all the others must be saints!!!
No Michael wasnt making fun of her snoring he was pretending to snore to show her he was finding her boring when she was talking when Emma was asking her questions and he wanted to upset her and get her angry which he did. Then the twins joined in by laughing at what Michael was doing to get at Denise and they enjoyed every minute of it!!!

The twins first started to hate Denise when she nominated the twins in the face to face nominations. I remember the twins saying in the garden to each other that they are goung to make there lifes hell in the house because they nominated them and they said something bad about Denise just because she nominated them. The twins sure made Denises time hell in the house!
So we all need to grow up because we all dont support bullying and that we choose to support who we want to support?? lol XD

I thought Frankie was going to win even through I wanted Denise to win so when Brian said Denises name I was really glad she hed won

He really did lose any and all respect that I had for him then. He had had his arguments with Denise in the house, but he still had his redeeming qualities, but BOTS showed just how much of a sore loser he is.

I agree Michael was so rude but his and the twin fans and the Denise Haters will slate Denise and stick up for him and the twins and trie to make out that the way he and the twins treated Denise was OK when it wasnt!
Michael could of been the bigger person and acted like an adult and just let Denise have her moment but no he has to spoil it for her like the twins did too. Michael has spent 3 weeks with Denise so he must know what buttons to press to get Denise upset and angry and he pressed those buttons that day and he and the twins got what they wanted and they was so proud aswell!
