Former X Factor contestant and bookies’ favourite to win Frankie Cocozza has finished as the runner-up of Celebrity Big Brother 2012.
He lost out to Denise Welch in the final vote, but the result marks a big turnaround for the 19-year-old, who was booted off the ITV1 talent show last year amid allegations of drug-taking. He was cheered by the live crowd.
Commenting on his new-found success in his eviction interview, Frankie said: “I had these [sunglasses] on just so I didn’t cry, I got a bit emotional. I was expecting to go in and leave after four days.”
Host Brian Dowling then asked how Romeo’s nomination of him affected his bravado with women. “It did make me think, but I never did it in a bad way, a horrible way, I was just asking for blow jobs every now and again!”
But the vote didn’t affect Frankie’s opinion of the So Solid Crew rapper. “His voice, he’s the smoothest person I’ve ever met in my life. I just want to talk like him.”
He also had kind words for his new mentor Michael Madsen, saying: “It’s just weird, like, I’d only seen him in movies and you don’t ever expect to meet anyone who’s actually in like top films.”
