Cage-fighter and actor Alex has been announced as the winner of the last Channel 4 series of Celebrity Big Brother.
He recieved 65.9% of the final vote, having emerged as the favourite to win just yesterday. His popularity grew throughout the series, with him leaving to cheers despite being booed as he entered.
In his interview with Davina, he said: “I’m very overwhelmed. What an amazing, fantastic start to the New Year.”
Discussing the change in public perception of him, he said: “I’m speechless. My whole agenda in here was just to be myself – I know I’m a good guy.”
Asked exactly who ‘Alex Reid’ is, he replied: “I’m here right now and I’ve won this, so it is a good start. Alex Reid is a man on a mission. He is going to win a fight in three months. And I’m a man in love.”
On this note, the conversation turned to his girlfriend Katie Price – prompting the crowd to boo her.
“I’m sorry guys, well, I’m not sorry,” he exclaimed, “but I love Katie Price.”
This caused the crowd to boo her more as Davina told him that Price was at the Big Brother compound.
On his friendship with Dane, he said, “We’ll be friends for life. I’ve known him, but I’m surprised by what a cool dude he is and what a gentleman. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of Dane.”
He also commented on learning about religion from Stephen: “I don’t claim to be studying every single day but I find it very interesting.”
After his interview, Alex strolled up and down the catwalk as fireworks went off around the studios.
