Ivana was born in the Czech Republic. After being encouraged to ski from a young age was selected for the Czech Olympic Ski Team. Which allowed Ivana opportunities to travel outside of the communist bloc. In the 1970’s Ivana earned a master’s degree from the University of Prague. She later left Czechoslovakia to live in Montreal where she worked as a model.

In 1976 whilst on a modeling assignment to New York met future husband Donald Trump. They married in April 1977. The Trumps were leading figures in New York high society and business during the 1980s. In 1991, Ivana filed for divorce.

Soon after her divorce from Donald, Ivana began developing lines of clothing, fashion jewellery and beauty products. She has also written several bestselling books and played a cameo role in the Hollywood film The First Wives Club.
