We’ve introduced some new features to our comments section to make them easier and more fun to use – read on for the lowdown…

Yes, if comments weren’t Web 2.0 enough, we’ve brought them even more up-to-date with support for avatars, Twitter and Facebook! Here’s how it all works…

Sign in with Twitter

To sign in with Twitter, simply click the button above the comment form. It will ask you to authorize the ‘bbspy Comments’ application (app). If you’re not logged in to Twitter, it will prompt you to do so.

Once you’ve approved it, your name (i.e. the name defined in your Twitter profile, not your @username) and avatar will appear in the comments form, and next to all comments you leave while signed in with Twitter.

To log out, simply click the link in the comment form. It will log you out of bbspy, and you can sign in again any time by clicking the button above the form.

If you wish to completely stop using your Twitter account on bbspy, first log out as explained above, then go to the Applications tab on your Twitter settings page and click the ‘Revoke Access’ button beside the bbspy Comments app. You can always sign in on bbspy again to re-authorize the app.

Sign in with Facebook

Facebook works much the same. Click the button above the comment form. If you’re not logged in to Facebook, it will prompt you to do so. It will then ask you to log in to the bbspy Comments app.

Once you’ve approved it, your Facebook profile name and avatar will appear in the comment form, and next to all comments you leave while signed in with Facebook.

Clicking the ‘log out’ button will log you out of Facebook as well as bbspy. If you wish to stop using your Facebook account on bbspy, visit the App Settings page in your Account Settings on Facebook, the click the cross beside bbspy Comments. You can always sign in on bbspy again to re-authorize the app.

Don’t worry – we’ll never use access to any Twitter or Facebook account(s) irresponsibly, and we’ll never have access to your password(s). Please see our privacy policy for more information.

Unfortunately, Twitter and Facebook sign-in isn’t currently available on bbspy Mobile – but we’re working hard to add it as soon as possible!

I don’t have Twitter or Facebook, what about me?!

Fret not, we’ve thought of you – bbspy now includes Gravatars! Simply sign up at gravtar.com and follow the instructions to upload an avatar. Once you’ve done so, your avatar will appear next to all comments you leave on bbspy (and any other Gravatar-enabled sites) with the email address you used to sign up.

Don’t forget you can also save your details so you don’t have to keep typing them in by ticking the ‘Remember Me’ box when leaving a comment.
