Coleen’s Celeb BB victory watched by 2.2million viewers
Celebrity Big Brother 2017 ‘All Stars’ and ‘New Stars’ ended with the show’s lowest rating winter final ever – although it managed to score 95% of the launch audience.
Last night’s two-hour live show, which saw Coleen Nolan beat Jedward to be crowned winner, had an overnight average of 2.19million viewers (12.2%) including Channel 5+1.
That is 510,000 less than the 2.7million viewers that saw last January’s conclusion, making it CBB’s least watched final ever for a winter run.
However, it is a decent figure in the context of the series, which suffered a severe drop in ratings throughout.
The launch show, which aired on January 3rd, had 2.3million viewers – meaning, with a drop of just 110,000, the final retained 95.21% of the launch audience.
Overall, ‘All Stars’ and ‘New Stars’ had an overnight series average of 1.78million viewers, 480,000 less than the equivalent 2.26million figure for last January.
This will no doubt ring alarm bells for Channel 5, as it brings the winter CBB – previously the broadcaster’s best-performing show of the year – closer in line with the lower-rating summer edition.
At the time of publication, the consolidated or ‘official’ series average – which accounts for additional factors, included recorded viewing – is 2.34million.
