Big Brother's Bit On The Psych presenter Iain Lee

Broadcaster Iain Lee has announced his departure from Celebrity Big Brother spin-off show Bit On The Psych.

Lee joined the weekly psychology-themed discussion programme in 2013 as a regular guest, before being promoted to Rylan Clark’s co-host in January this year.

But this afternoon, the 41-year-old took to his Twitter page to tell his followers that he won’t be returning for future series.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my BB run. Made some great friends. Good luck,” he wrote, later adding: “Just to clarify. I’m not doing the next series of Big Brother. All is cool. I’ve had a cracking time. And thanks to my onscreen husband @Rylan.”

Rylan responded with his best wishes, saying: “Really gonna miss you. You’ve been a pleasure to work with and thank you for all you’ve done for me. Will miss our saturdays x”

Lee was known for dividing viewers with his abrasive presenting style and controversial comments, leading to him being suspended briefly during last summer’s series.

It is unclear whether the 41-year-old will be replaced, or whether Bit On The Psych will return.

Indeed, it’s still unconfirmed whether Big Brother itself will return, as Channel 5 is yet to officially announce a renewal of its contract with production company Endemol.

However, the fifteenth Celebrity edition is expected to air in January, with rumoured housemates including reality TV stars Katie Price and Austin Armacost, singer Brian Harvey, and media pundit Katie Hopkins.

That’s a shame really, he is an awesome presenter and fantastic comedian but his comedy just wasn’t allowed to flow thanks to the execs on the show and over-sensitive viewers.

Good luck to him in everything else he is doing though! BBBOTP won’t be the same without him.

If they are going to make this change, I sure hope to God that Viacom are making many MORE and BETTER changes. This show is in dire need of change and some care and attention thrown at it. No more lowest common denominator viewer bullrubbish.

I honestly don’t really know he is. Was always wondering who people were on about when they mentioned his name on BOTS or DigitalSpy.

I probably only ever watched one of the psych episodes. Sounded like a great idea but god was it awful. Literally so so bad it was embarrassing.

I never cared for Ian Lee, his humour wasn’t my idea of funny. However the ones I really wish they would get rid of are that skeletal woman who calls herself a psychologist and the other awful woman who is supposed to be a doctor… bum!!
