TV regular Ken Morley landed his first major acting role in 1988, playing General Leopold von Flockenstuffen in the classic BBC sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo.

However, he is best known for his role as Reg Holdsworth on Coronation Street. The character became one of the most iconic on the ITV soap, thanks to his distinct appearance and reputation as a ladies’ man. Ken left the show in 1997 after a seven-year stint.

Since then, he has appeared in two Corrie specials, as well as adverts for a Corrie-themed bingo website and window retailer SafeStyle UK. He also recently popped up in an episode of ITV comedy Benidorm.

Ken has reality TV experience as a contestant on Celebrity Fit Club – which saw him lose two stone in weight – and Celebrity Masterchef.

It seems he believes in the adage that it’s the taking part that counts, as he insists he’s not interested in being crowned Celebrity Big Brother winner.

“I like to participate and enjoy the experience; it’s an irrelevance to me when I leave,” he explains. “I’ve done one or two cooking shows and been kicked off at the first stage and they said, ‘Why are you smiling to be kicked off?’. It’s the doing of it really that is the interesting thing.”

As a regular on the pantomime circuit, Ken isn’t concerned by harsh reactions from the CBB crowd. “I’ll encourage it,” he grins. “Let the bile flow and get it out of your systems! Booing is good. I think just walking on in, what I’ll be wearing will be enough to get it going.”

Ken lists flatulence as his worst habits, and says “personal uncleanliness and smelling” and “just being vile” are the bad habits that annoy him. But there’s only one thing he’s worried about in the house.

“Only if I lose my tempter, which I do occasionally, and there will be the most violent outburst of volatile filth you have ever heard in your life, and it will come like a volcano,” he predicts.

A dreadful little man. Racist, misogynist, pathetic, and vile.

I liked him when he first went in. I thought he was funny. Last night he stepped over the line big time for me. He’s nasty and should have been out last night. I want him to go on Tuesday. :straight:

OMG…. Who is this man???? I thought he was a good man when he was in Coronation Street…. But how wrong you can be….what a vile, racist, sexist, nasty little perverted man… These comments roll off his tongue much too easily… It’s natural…. I still can’t pick my jaw off the floor…. If he hasn’t learned how to behave at 70 years old then he certainly doesn’t deserve to be in this show….. He should be thrown out of the house and not be paid…

Political correctness gone MAD. I’m sorry but Pete Burns was so much more vile, offensive and insulting and he did not get kicked out of the house. Yes Ken is vile, but I think there was a witch hunt against him, particularly from Perez and it worked. And now BlackBerry is not airing the opposite views. Please! PC gone mad!

Ken most probably would of been evicted of the eviction was left to proceed. However Ken Morley isn’t a racist and shouldn’t be portrayed as one, his work with Frank Bruno speaks for itself. When Ken was having a conversation with Alexander he was stating historical facts not being racist, he wasnt speaking in an angry or decieving manner. His words have been clearly mis understood. I’d also like to add, for the ‘best bums in the world’ comment, he is a 71 year old man. I have 4 grandfathers 2 of which are my step grandfathers.. All 4 of them would of looked at young females in the house, the way Ken did, due to them prancing around in their underwear..What else can he do other than look? It’s a mans ..prerogative. The comment was minor, and he said what he was thinking which I respect. I am a 20 year old woman and to be honest, there is no way I’d be prancing around in my underwear knowing there are older men in there… As older men tend to eye up young women, maybe to reflect on their youth? Or maybe to enjoy the view.. He’s a man, an old one, who quite frankly did nothing wrong. #teamken

I absolutely agree with Everything that Savannah has said!!!!!! Ever since the Shilpa Shetty incident on Big Brother I feel like every little comment that is said is being blown out of proportion without being investigated whether complaints or no complaints and it’s also making the show really boring just for the fact that the other housemates have no energy whatsoever.
Everyone enjoys a bit of controversy on tv these days thats what you get viewers for, not for everyone diddly doddlying about being all happy. How unexciting is that.
And Page 3 models who claim to have such self respect when practically the whole nation has seen their bits and bobs. How hypocritical. Naked ladies will never learn how to cover themselves up, even in a house full of men they don’t know.
