Katie Hopkins was catapulted in to the public consciousness as a contestant on BBC One’s The Apprentice in 2006, competing for a £100,000 job working for Lord Alan Sugar.
She made it all the way to the business end of the series – but turned down a place in the grand final, citing a lack of childcare for her daughters.
She was known as the most outspoken contestant, and this trait has been amplified in the last few years, as she’s become a hate figure in the media for her controversial opinions.
Her career as a loudmouth begun in 2013, when she criticised names including Tyler and Chardonnay on ITV’s This Morning. She also voiced disapproval of parents choosing geographical locations as names for their kids – despite calling one of her daughters India.
Since then, she’s done the rounds giving her thoughts on everything from benefits culture to drug addiction. She sparked fury by tweeting about Scottish life expectancy figures in the wake of the Glasgow helicopter tragedy – and recently further irked the Scottish people by criticising them for sending England “Ebola bombs” when an aid worker struck with the deadly disease travelled south for treatment.
Katie has also been vocal on the ‘obesity crisis’ in the UK. Last year she gained four stone in an attempt to prove that it’s easy for fat people to lose weight, with cameras following her for a TLC documentary. My Fat Story went on to become the digital channel’s highest rating show to date.
Seven years after taking part in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Katie has now signed up for Celebrity Big Brother – although it’s not her first time in Britain’s most famous house, as she was a ‘guinea pig’ rehearsal contestant for Channel 4’s very first civilian series in 2000.
The 39-year-old says she’s got absolutely “nothing to prove” to viewers – indeed, she looks set to be as controversial as ever, as she says she’d hate to live with “any fat person”.
“That is quite a broad spectrum. I have no empathy for a fat person,” she claimed. “I hope there might be one person in there who is funny, clever, witty, well-read or who has spent a lifetime performing on the stage.”
Katie isn’t afraid to get in to a heated debate with her fellow housemates – but she’ll be picking and choosing them wisely. “There will be people trying to get their moment of telly by annoying me, so I will swat them away,” she smiles.
“But if you get some people who actually think what they’re saying and believe it, then sure, I’ll probably go for that.”

I don’t give a jot how sweet and funny Katie Hopkins is trying to come across, any person who says and puts in print some of the hurtful vile things she’s said doesn’t deserve the publics support. This Is the sign of a cowardly bully and the bullying will continue when she gets back to her day job which I hope is sooner rather than later.

I don’t see what some people are seeing. In fact the way some people are going on makes me wonder if we are watching the same CBB. What exactly has perez and nadia done that is so vile and unforgivable. And exactly how has Katie H shown to us that she’s funny, kind and intelligent????
Yes, perez was very naughty and irked Alexander by coughing incessantly. Apart from being annoying what other crimes have Perez and Nadia committed? perez is needy and attention seeking and that he will always be. People seem to have selective memory. They quickly forget that Perez started with being friendly, nice and gracious but his need for attention turned people off and they became rude – laughing in his face, walking out on him etc and. That’s when he unleashed the hyper Perez. It was only when he saw that people were so bothered by him that he decided to start acting up. Infantile … Yes but not criminal. People forget he was the only male in the house who supported the women against Ken M and he supported Alyssa when Hello dear, hw’s ur day hope all is nice, i just want to let u knw that there is something i want to ask u now which i,ve been hidding from u for a very long time, sometimes when i want to tell u i feel discouraged cos i dont knw if u re gona respond negatively, i just want to let u knw dat what i,m about to tell you has been a burden to me for a very long tym n i jst can’t keep it in my mind any longer, so pls don’t feel upset when i say dis to you, just knw dat it’s from my heart and it’s real, pls pls pls be sincere and tell me the truth How much is fufu in your Area?…. I like her at time all the things she has said in the house are right well almost all of them but I don’t like what she had said about fat people and if I never knew about her on the outside I would like her but I am basing on what I have saw in the house I like her but not my fav
To all of you who are insulting Katie H and think she is a “bad person”, you really need to rethink, most of you know her for being openionated, What do you know Perez for exactly?
Katie H has proven to be the same person, I do not see a tiny bit of fakeness, unlike Nadia, who is stupid for calling Katie H a 2 faced woman, when clearly she is not.
Katie is smart, funny and charismatic, she has done nothing to prove otherwise, unlike Perez, who cries like little kids and always runs to Nadia to hear few silly words te make him feel allright again, this is literally irritating to watch. Lol! He needs to go out.

Get Katie out….she’s started picking on people again now that she’s been saved. As the man said last night on CBBOTS…this woman is a master manipulator & knows exactly what she’s doing and playing the game well. Ok we know that Alicia aint the brightest spark in the house but why does she keep putting Alicia down all the time and ‘correcting’ people & then make stupid faces afterwards. What I don’t like about Katie Hopkins is that her remarks are intended to hurt her target and I think any form of attack on a persons bodily appearance or intelligence is the sign of a coward.
How would she feel if the tables were turned and someone said they found here a bit on the ugly side and reminded them of Mr Punch.

I agree but she’s walking a very fine line between having valid opinions and hysteria. The latter being brought about by the fool Perez. I would punch that man if he taunted me the way he does her. Nadia has really backed the wrong horse. I think she’ll leave tomorrow.
