Alexander O’Neal is an American R&B singer, best known during the 80s for hits such as ‘Criticise’ and Cherelle collaboration ‘Saturday Love’. He’s had three top ten albums in the UK: 1987’s ‘Hearsay’, 1991’s ‘All True Man’, and his 1992 greatest hits compilation ‘This Thing Called Love’.
In recent years, he’s been better known in Blighty for a string of television appearances, including a special episode of quiz show The Weakest Link and BBC One’s Just The Two Of Us, on which he performed with newsreader Fiona Bruce.
He also took part in a 2008 edition of Channel 4’s Celebrity Wife Swap, in which he swapped his wife Cynthia for broadcaster Jilly Goolden.
Now he’s turning to Celebrity Big Brother in an attempt to test his patience. Alexander explains: “It’s the challenge of doing something so different because Big Brother is everything that Alexander O’Neal is not. I’m a very private person, I don’t hang out with people. Not like this. When I’m on my own time it’s just my wife and me. So this is going to be very different!”
Alexander’s nightmare housemate is someone who’s smelly, as he’s warned his fellow celebrities to burp or fart in the bathrooms if they don’t want him to go crazy.
“That’s another show!” he joked. “We are going to try to make sure that isn’t going to happen. Not to that degree.”
That said, he doesn’t plan to regulate his own bad habits, as he “can’t tell what irritates other people”.
Alexander has vowed that he’ll “try to win” CBB, and he hopes the public will see him as a good person. “I know I can handle situations with other people whether it’s controversy or something positive,” he says. “My goal is to come out and for people to get a little more insight into Alex.”
I must say I was impressed with how he dealt with Ken situation.

I’m not into Americans in our TV programmes their sense of humour is nothing like ours but this chap is so well mannered and all gent. Hope he gets to the final if not win it
@pete aka (spanna) Alexander and Michelle have been impressive,although Cami-Li and Perez have lived up to the American egotistical stereotype,Alexander does come across as a true gentleman but I did think we’d see a bit more of him.
Agree with all the above. He seem a very nice gentleman. He just needs some fun in the house to maybe come out his shell more. So much nastiness this year no wonder he’s been quiet and wants to go home.
Can,t believe this man was pulled up and given a warning for swearing. It’s totally ridiculous considering most have been using bad language throughout. What kind of team is running this programme? It has to be the same rule for ALL. Either they are allowed to swear or there not. :conf:

i cant believe alexander has left and that big brother has left that perez in the house i was hoping that alexander would win big brother , i think big brother should remove that awfull perez he makes me sick

Totally agree with you. Perez is a sly nasty vile human. Why he is still there and hasn,t been removed is beyond me. I thought he was unstable but to be honest I am starting to think he knows exactly what he is doing which is even worse.
Was gutted to hear that Alexander left thanks to that ugly troll. He seemed like such a nice. Parez is spoiling the experience for everyone. I think Alexander handled him well and should be proud of himself. Must of been difficult not being able to smack the prat! Im afraid i would have bound and gagged the idiot and locked him in a cupboard along time ago! must be very hard to be trapped 24/7, feeeking homesick and then not being able to escape the freak.
Shame, I really liked Alexander.
