Gary Busey is an American actor best known for his roles in Point Break and The Buddy Holly Story, and his reputation for bizarre behaviour.
After growing up in Oklahoma, he attended Kansas State University on a football scholarship, but his dreams of pursuing a career in professional sports were shattered after injuring his knee. He then moved to Hollywood to pursue a music career, but acting beckoned.
After securing several small roles in both film and television during the 1970s, he made his film debut in Angels Hard As They Come in 1971. Following this he starred as the lead in The Buddy Holly Story, which led to him winning an Academy Award nomination.
Later in Gary’s acting career, he took on more sinister roles in the action thrillers Lethal Weapon (1987), Predator 2 (1990), and of course Point Break (1991), with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. He also played a cameo role as himself in the comedy Entourage.
Gary had a near-fatal motorcycle accident in 1989 after he rode without a helmet. This resulted in the enactment of stricter helmet laws in the State of California.
The accident split his skull open and he was taken to hospital for immediate surgery. Gary claims that his brain got altered – it was a wake-up call to get his life in order and to appreciate it. He recovered two and a half months earlier than predicted, and says his faith was the reason.
Gary has three children – son Jake with his first wife Judy, daughter Alectra with Tracy Hutchinson and son Luke with his wife Steffanie Sampson. He has black belts in budo-jujitsu, capoeira, hapkido, and kendo.

Hi Brian you are entitled to your views and opinions and I am glad you posted. It is becoming a bit of a mine field on here at times though . There are 3 people,although it may be only one in reality, who I find pop up and just attack posters for no good reason. They tend to tell us we need a life but it’s actually them.
I enjoy posting and discussing the show. Yes, I can get annoyed at times but I do like to read other people’s views and will acknowledge it when later events prove me wrong. Keep watching and posting?@Brian

In the early 80s it was not legal requirement for wearing a motorbike helmet in nearly all states and still isn’t now in some states ,

Nice to see James’ head “explode” when Gary mentioned his previous 32 life times. James walked off as he felt Gary had well and truly “lost it”. Expect James couldn’t wait to tell the other members what Gary said. Best entertainment bit from last night.
Also, thought it was amusing when Gary said “This is the exciting bit” when Leslie had to make another nomination. Everyone else was paranoid.

I really can’t decide if Gary is acting or what! I can’t stop watching him. I had recorded last nights show and found myself fast forwarding to the bits with him in!
Just watched a clip where Edele was getting exasperated because Gary couldn’t make out what she was saying. Try enunciating Edele!
Hes a wind-up-merchant is Gary….full of out there stories and loves annoyinh ppl with his hearing problem.

When he was telling James about his 36 lives !!! James walked away dumbfounded, …you could almost see Gary chuckling to himself thinking what a dick,

When you see the clip of Gary trying to convince James that he’s got a balloon phobia he came out with yet another crazy story but James believed every word he said, he played him perfectly,
Your right it’s hard to decide if he’s acting or not! And when you see that clip it makes even harder because when he was “told” to act he looked the same when he’s not acting ( um I’m not sure if what I just said made any sense!!)
He,s either completely bonkers or winding every one up on perpose,…..I think it’s a bit of both!!…
Either way though he’s a fascinating character,…much better to watch than half the other wannabes in there

I bet even in nursing homes for the elderly you get some right hard faced 70 yr old!! But I can’t imagine the nurses refusing to give the elderly food or some respect.

Gary busey deserves to win. He takes it all and still enjoys himself. He went into the house for fun and they have all given him the total opposite . How could they,
? A great guy who has entertained smany people in his life with an excellent acting career. Gary deserves to win at 70 and enjoying himself in a house full of idiots. Come on gary you deserve it…….. julie.
