Gary Busey is an American actor best known for his roles in Point Break and The Buddy Holly Story, and his reputation for bizarre behaviour.

After growing up in Oklahoma, he attended Kansas State University on a football scholarship, but his dreams of pursuing a career in professional sports were shattered after injuring his knee. He then moved to Hollywood to pursue a music career, but acting beckoned.

After securing several small roles in both film and television during the 1970s, he made his film debut in Angels Hard As They Come in 1971. Following this he starred as the lead in The Buddy Holly Story, which led to him winning an Academy Award nomination.

Later in Gary’s acting career, he took on more sinister roles in the action thrillers Lethal Weapon (1987), Predator 2 (1990), and of course Point Break (1991), with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. He also played a cameo role as himself in the comedy Entourage.

Gary had a near-fatal motorcycle accident in 1989 after he rode without a helmet. This resulted in the enactment of stricter helmet laws in the State of California.

The accident split his skull open and he was taken to hospital for immediate surgery. Gary claims that his brain got altered – it was a wake-up call to get his life in order and to appreciate it. He recovered two and a half months earlier than predicted, and says his faith was the reason.

Gary has three children – son Jake with his first wife Judy, daughter Alectra with Tracy Hutchinson and son Luke with his wife Steffanie Sampson. He has black belts in budo-jujitsu, capoeira, hapkido, and kendo.

I want Gary to win . He has more talent than all the others put together . How would they like it if their brain damaged father or grandfather were treated the way they treat him . They’re so full of themselves .

I don’t think your critique of him as an actor counts for much really, he’s been in dozens of films, appeared on TV and stage, and by the looks of things has been obviously more successful than any of the others in there have been or are ever likely to be. Like him or loathe him he is what some people would call a celebrity, not the Towie, benefits st, gogglebox type of people, who will no doubt be forgotten very soon especially when some other crappo type reality show spews forth more wannabees.

I agree, watching him stumble around the BB house not knowing what the hell is going on is hardly entertaining & mostly cringeworthy & uncomforable to watch. I
If he says or does anything funny it’s usually
un intentional, so we are laughing at him rather than with him. Sad.

Not a Hollywood legend either, just a minor bit part player, never ever a leading man like DeNiro, Hackman, Pacino et al.

Ian Lee off BBBOTS thinks he’s the best housemate ever, but then again he is an idiot so his misguided opinion, apart from being wrong, means nothing.

I feel rather sad that all the so called celebs in the big house think it is funny and acceptable to behave as they are towards Gary. He might not have been a leading man in any movies but he did star in them and he played is parts well and has paid the price for that fame, understanding and compassion and maybe just a little respect.

I want to vent my disgust at the way the house members treat Gary! They show him no respect at all. Would they like to go on the US version of BB to be told that no one in the house likes them? to be ignored and left alone to sit by themselves? That poor man has been through too much in his life and now, at the age of 70, i think he has earnt some respect and kind words. I want BB to tell Gary that the people of the UK appreciate him. Thats not too much to ask.

I agree with the others, the way gary is been treated
he is the only true celebrity in there, sad to see how
they treat him he is such an icon, don’t know why
he went in there, they don’t talk to him, he is such
    an interesting person. πŸ˜₯

Has anybody seen Gary’s stellar performance as Buddy Holly? Have you seen the films Eye of the Tiger or Act of Piracy where Gary is the leading actor and portrays great charisma and genuine charm as down to earth, ordinary hero’s on the warpath and out for revenge? No? You should all check these great films out before trying to criticising this iconic legend of the silver screen.

Well said. Its rather unfortunate that some viewers think he is being treated fairly. And for anyone to think that he hadnt played lead roles is a joker. Well I personally think he is the only one who has seen it all. Life can throw some surprises at u guys. The man is 70 and should be treated wit respect. If he was ur grandad I bet u would have told all ur friends and colleagues wat a funny man he is.

Yes spot on. Why cant these people make allowances for an elderly American who is hard of hearing πŸ™ instead of losing patience & slagging him off, then making him the scapegoat. I’m finding it upsetting viewing. πŸ™

Totally disgusted at the abuse from the house towards Gary. Pretty obvious Gary has a hearing problem and his reactions are slow. No-one has time for him or any patience. The majority of the contestants are clearly “up” their own
***** . BB pulls up contestants when they say they see “unacceptable behaviour”; so why don’t they pull people to 1 side when they are bullying Gary. 2 faced BB. Think the most hurtful comments to Gary have come from Leslie, James and Stephanie. Leslie; when he referred to Garys 4 year old son; James; when he suggested Gary have a shower; and Stephanie when she told Gary that no-one likes him. These 3 contestants are vile and selfish. Pretty uncomfortable seeing celebrities in the limelight following the status quo and pschologically bullying so called “weaker” people. In fact, these 3 in particular are the weak ones. Gutless. Gary is also misunderstood. He’s misunderstood, because others just “jump on him” without asking for clarification on something he just said. Hard viewing and doesn’t say much for the human race.

    He is great !!!
Lovely, talented spiritual man.. not perfect but much better that the other “Men” in the household that make fun of him , along with beastie girl Stephanie ( looks like an angel but is a nasty thug!)
Saw him for the first time in a movie yesterday, he is wonderful !!!

He had a horrific motorcycle accident in the 80’s and his skull was badly damage so he has a brain impairment, why are those terrible men picking on him???

I feel at times when I read comments that I am watching a different show! I find Gary funny,no I’m not laughing at him but I thought he was hilarious when he spoke about the film piranha and how he was only in the first 8 minutes and when he saw the whole thing he was glad! He also brought Leslie do until to size when he was telling his unfunny butt hole story. That’s what riled the little man and why he can’t stand Gary. Oh and just apologising doesn’t make what he said to Gary okay!

im sorry but i think not much of gary’s acting sorry
he was nominated for oscar but never won it.
I dont understand why you all say your shocked at how they treat gary – they were caring when he fell over and david got an ice pack and gary was abrupt and never even said thanks
its my opinion and im entitled to say i dont like gary
i dont understand why big brother allowed him into the house – perhaps they wanted some entertainment or use him to stir things up
if you are 70 and talk to people like crap you wont get respect from younger ones
to get respect you have to have a respectful attitude and respect others
so far i havent seen gary in that light.
People in the house live with him 24 hours a day and big brother only show 1 hours worth – all the housemates say gary is rude and abrupt so no they wont have respect for him
if my grandad was rude like gary i wouldnt wanna be around him
please everyone dont start attacking me for my views i am allowed to say how i feel without being attacked and called names
    with peace and respect

It is not illegal to ride without a helmet in certain states in US. I know that this is true for Florida and it is common to see riders without them. Personally I would wear a helmet but we can’t really condemn him for doing what is the norm in his homeland after all he was the only one harmed!@Scooby

big brother have the final say who goes in and who doesnt

    they assess everyone

@janicer im not condemning him at all. Im jus saying every man boy woman girl knows speeding on a motorcycle high on cocaine and alcohol without a helmit is dangerous
