Vanessa Feltz grills housemates in BBFM task
Vanessa Feltz entered the Celebrity Big Brother summer 2013 house today to present a special Big Brother FM ‘radio’ debate on whether the housemates are being entertaining enough.
In the latest challenge, Feltz – a regular on BBC Radio 2 and BBC London – anchored a talk show from the BBFM studio in the task room, as the group listened from the living area.
She grilled the housemates on whether they thought they were delivering value for their sizeable fees they’ve been paid for their Celebrity Big Brother appearances, and also revealed outside world opinions left by viewers on the show’s official Facebook page.
“What would it take to goad these miserable malcontents in to action?” the 51-year-old asked in her intro. “A firework up the arse? A bath full of booze? A cattle prod? Or me, Vanessa Feltz, shooting straight from the hip with the latest verdict on what the public really thinks of them.
“This is Molly Squires, Molly says, ‘For the first time ever, I don’t have a favourite, I don’t think any of them deserve to win’. This is Ben, ‘I really don’t know how people like Charlotte are considered normal for wetting the bed, disgusting example for young girls’.”
Abz was one of the first housemates to visit the studio, with Vanessa telling him: “You’ve been very quiet, sometimes you’ve been so quiet we’ve forgotten you were here.”
“I know, I’m very insular, I’m quite a private person in the outside world so I feel like I’ve been thrown to the lion’s den in here,” replied the 5ive singer.
Next was former Loose Women panellist Carol, who commented: “Sometimes you’ve just got to say what you think about people. People can like me or they don’t like me, I’m fine.”
Louie agreed in his interview, explaining: “In the real world nobody’s nice all the time. People see our TV personas, yes I’m light, I’m fluffy I’m spinning around doing high kicks, but I’m not like that in real life, I have my moments, I’m moody.”
Later, Vanessa grilled Courtney with a statement from ‘Rob’, who wondered: “Courtney is a lazy 19-year-old spoiled brat, who can’t even pack her own cases, is that true?”
“I think I’m spoiled, but not in a bad way,” answered the American media personality.
But arguably the funniest reaction came from Charlotte, when Vanessa read out: “This is from Noreen, she says Charlotte is an idiot, but I do think if she left Geordie Shore, got a proper job and just toned down a bit she could be a really nice person.”
“Well I don’t like Noreen either and I think her name’s s**t,” Charlotte chided.
Mario then defended the Geordie Shore star, saying: “Charlotte is like the little light in here that gets you through every day.”
“See Noreen? What have you got to say now Noreen?!” exclaimed Charlotte.
Vanessa was previously a housemate in the first Celebrity Big Brother, during which she infamously suffered a meltdown. She later took part in Ultimate Big Brother, and will compete in the new series of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, which begins later this month.
