Celebrity Big Brother bosses have reportedly signed comedian Jim Davidson for the new series – five years after his infamous homophobic rant aimed at its presenter Brian Dowling.
Davidson, 59, was booted off of ITV cooking competition Hell’s Kitchen in 2007 after referring to fellow contestant Dowling as a ‘shirtlifter’, a ‘poof’ and a ‘f***ing disgrace’.
He later wrote a letter of apology to Brian, but the pair haven’t spoken since.
Now The Sun suggests that former Generation Game host Jim will become a housemate on CBB next month, a move which will see him reunited with Brian for his entry and exit interviews.
An insider commented: “Jim often says what he thinks, even if his views are at odds with most people. He got himself into a lot of trouble when he was on Hell’s Kitchen with Brian but hopefully he will be on better behaviour with him this time.
“It’s true to say there is no love lost between the pair of them but Brian is a professional and this is part of his job.”
The paper also suggests that ex-EastEnders and Footballer’s Wives actress Gillian Taylforth has joined the line-up for the show, which returns on January 3rd.
