Channel 5 has denied accusations that Paula Hamilton should not be taking part in Celebrity Big Brother 2013 as she is unfit psychologically.
The 80s model – who was rejected from a previous Channel 4 series for failing mental examinations – has sparked concern among viewers due to her erratic behaviour in the house.
Paula reacted badly to being nominated for the first eviction, accusing the show of ‘breaking’ her and ‘sabotaging’ her career, and shocking her fellow housemates by asking them to ‘pass me the razor blades’.
She also reportedly suggested that the stress of being on Big Brother was partly responsible for the late former housemate Jade Goody’s death from cervical cancer.
However, speaking to The Daily Mail, a spokesperson for Channel 5 insisted: “In accordance with standard procedure for CBB, the housemates are all psychologically evaluated before they enter the house and are closely monitored at all times.”
Either Paula, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt or Frankie Dettori will be voted out of the house in tonight’s eviction, which takes place at 9.00pm on Channel 5.
