Big Brother 2017 live show set

Big Brother 2017 live evictions reportedly disrupted filming for the second season of hit Netflix show The Crown earlier this summer.

The Claire Foy and Matt Smith drama – reportedly one of the most expensive programmes ever, with budgets of over £100million – is made at Elstree Studios at Hertfordshire.

Its set is positioned right next to the Big Brother compound, which has been situated in the Borehamwood studio complex since 2002.

According to The Sun, the arrangement reportedly led to clashes between the two shows earlier this year, when The Crown tried to film nighttime scenes while Big Brother evictions were taking place.

“It was so frustrating because you’d have the lead characters trying to deliver these epic lines and you couldn’t hear them,” a source commented.

“Instead all you got was host Emma Willis shouting, ‘You have been evicted from the Big Brother house’ followed by these endless waves of cheering crowds.”

The insider added that there was no ill will, saying: “There was just nothing they could do but roll their eyes and go back to their trailers before rescheduling.

“Fortunately they could see the funny side of this epic historical drama being stalled by a reality TV show.”

A photo leak from the Big Brother house earlier this year illustrates exactly how close the two shows are to each other, with Flickr user TVurbex managing to capture a shot of a Buckingham Palace facade used by The Crown.

Big Brother evictions typically tape once weekly (on Fridays) during ‘civilian’ series, and twice weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays) during Celebrity series.

Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 5 in January, while the second season of The Crown premieres on Friday 8th December.

You can tell this story is fake by the phrase “endless waves of cheering crowds”.
