Big Brother may have taken control of the housemates’ pasts, presents and futures for this summer’s Timebomb theme, but they’ll still have to decide who faces eviction every week!

Usually, each housemate will make two nominations every week, and the housemates with the most nominations will face the upcoming eviction – with the group banned from discussing or influencing each other’s votes. However, Big Brother has been known for throwing twists in more often than not in recent years – so be sure to read our notes below for a full explanation of the gameplay.

Notes

• Week 1, Day 1: On launch night, viewers voted for Adjoa, Jack, Jade, Nick and Simon to take part in a twist. Each of these housemates picked a timebomb at random, and would receive whatever reward or punishment it contained. Jack won three ‘immunity passes’ enabling him to save himself or other housemates, Nick was told he’d have to nominate face-to-face for the entire series – and Simon was instantly evicted.
• Week 1, Day 4-6: Nick made his nominations on Day 4. All other housemates nominated face-to-face on Day 6. Jack decided to use his first immunity pass to save Cristian from the public vote.
• Week 2: Aaron, Cristian, Eileen, Jade, Joel, and Nick received the most nominations this week. However, Big Brother later decided that all other housemates would face eviction instead. The only housemate to be let in on the twist was Jack, who used his second immunity pass to save himself. Four housemates were evicted on Day 18 and replaced by four new ones – including launch night evictee Simon.
• Week 3: Viewers voted for two new housemates to decide who would face this week’s eviction. Sam and Simon were chosen, and they jointly nominated Eileen, Jack and Joel. Jack used his third and final immunity pass to save himself.
• Week 4: Housemates nominated face-to-face on Day 27. However, this week’s eviction was fake: instead of leaving, the nominee with the most public votes moved in to Big Brother’s ‘Timebomb bunker’.
• Week 5: As he was fake evicted on Day 32, this week Marc became a ‘Time Warp’ housemate with special guests Brian Belo, Helen Wood and Nikki Grahame. The foursome were exclusively responsible for choosing who faced this week’s eviction.
• Week 6: On Day 39, Big Brother pressed ‘pause’ on Time Warp week. This meant Marc received an extra week of immunity. This week’s nominations were played in the style of a game of tag. Jade, the eighth evictee, picked the first nominee for the ninth eviction; that person then picked the next nominee, and the process continued until all but one housemate had been nominated.
• Week 7: This week, Time Warp special guest Aisleyne was required to make two nominations face-to-face.
• Week 8: As part of Cash Bomb there was a nominations twist. Housemates had to race each other to press a button. Those who did received immunity (unless already nominated) and chose another housemate to automatically face eviction. The next day, nominees Harry Amelia, Jack, Nick and Sam were able to bid prize fund money for their safety. Nick won the auction, but had to pass his nomination on to another housemate. As the only remaining housemate who wasn’t nominated or immune, Chloe took his place. After Harry Amelia was evicted by public vote on Day 60, the safe housemates had to evict one of the three remaining nominees. They chose Sam.
