• 8.30pm Welcome to our live updates for the final of Big Brother 2011! The crowd are in, the housemates are ready and there’s only half an hour to go until the show kicks off on Channel 5.
• 8.36pm Alex is the bookies favourite to win tonight, but Aaron is leading many of the online polls! Click here for the latest odds… are we in for a shock result?
• 8.49pm Brian’s just been on in the Channel 5 ad break plugging the final: “The countdown to this year’s winner begins in fifteen minutes. Who’ll be number one? Find out at nine!”
• 9.03pm The show’s started! Brian does his usual introduction and walks up the stairs, where the prize money briefcase is waiting, having been removed from the house earlier today.
• 9.07pm Time for the ex-housemates to strut their stuff down the catwalk! Tashie, Heaven, Maisy, Aden, Anton, Harry, Faye, and Tom are paraded in front of the crowd, but Jem and Rebeckah apparently ‘couldn’t make it’. Oh dear! Walker Mark is there, but he doesn’t get an introduction.
• 9.09pm On to the highlights, and we start with a recap of the last week in the house, including the money twist, Alex and Tom’s birthday party and the pampering session.
• 9.12pm Tonight’s first casualty will leave the house after the break…

• 9.17pm Only a few minutes until the first vote count is taken, so get calling! But first, there’s just enough time for highlights of what happened yesterday, focusing on the aftermath of Tom’s eviction. Alex says she’s ‘absolutely devastated’. “I love you hun!” she exclaims as he heads up the stairs.
• 9.20pm Jay and Aaron congratulate each other at the smoking area. “We’re the last men standing,” notes Jay. Aaron predicts Alex will get a ‘wave of support’ after Tom’s exit.
• 9.22pm “Things you hate you’ll miss. I’ll miss the alarm,” says Louise as the final four reminisce in the Diary Room. Jay says he’ll miss ‘being the boss’. Alex says it’s surprising how much of an impact Big Brother can have on you, and Aaron says you ‘can’t buy’ such an experience.
• 9.26pm Brian’s talks to the house for the first time tonight and reveals that LOUISE has finished in fourth place. The housemates encourage her as she leaves the house to cheers from the crowd.
• 9.29pm We’ll be hearing from Louise after the break!

• 9.33pm Brian’s in the studio with Louise, who says she had convinced herself that she was too boring to make the final. The producers waste no time in bringing up her and Jay’s relationship with a VT!
• 9.37pm Louise says she was ‘devastated’ when Jay was ‘evicted’ in to the crypt, but the crowd booed when she mentioned Anton! She adds that he can do ‘anything’ and she wouldn’t mind, telling the world that he wiped his bum today and showed her what was on the paper. Nice.
• 9.40pm Time for Louise’s house highlights, and farts are a notable topic. Nice.
• 9.43pm Brian’s out in the crowd again and talking to the house. He announces that the person finishing in third place is ALEX. It’s fair to say that’s a bit of a shock… ‘Well done huns!’ she exclaims as she bits farewell to the final two, Jay and Aaron.
• 9.44pm Alex ‘oh my gods’ her way down the stairs to the sounds of ‘Barbie Girl’ by Aqua! Her interview follows after the break

• 9.50pm It’s your final chance to vote tonight, lines close in eight minutes. Meanwhile, Alex is in the studio. She says she’s been watching Big Brother since she was 14 and she never thought she’d make the final.
• 9.53pm “As soon as I saw him, I was like aw hun!” she says, talking about her relationship with Tom. She insists that it wasn’t a romantic relationship, but says she knew she had to be his friend.
• 9.55pm Alex says Harry was very down-to-earth and says she never made her bed before Big Brother as she was ‘so busy’. As for the fake tan: “my sheets are black!”
• 9.55pm Alex says she thinks Big Brother has made her more independent. Her best bits follow.
• 9.58pm Voting lines have now CLOSED. The winner of Big Brother 2011 will be revealed after the break!

• 10.03pm The time has come for the big announcement! Brian talks to the house and reveals that the winner of Big Brother 2011 is… AARON. Jay has come second!
• 10.07pm Jay’s talking to Brian, and the obvious first topic of conversation is Louise. “She kept me on the level,” said Jay. He says he’s in love with her and she brought out the best in him.
• 10.09pm “I’ll never eat bananas again,” vows Jay, joking that Harry is ‘lucky to be alive’ after his food prank! After a brief mention of his bum shaving, Jay’s shown his best bits.
• 10.12pm Your winner, Aaron, is coming out after the break!

• 10.17pm “They don’t sound happy, do they!” comments Aaron as Brian talks to the house for the final time. “You’re public awaits poppet!” says our host as Aaron makes his way out the house.
• 10.18pm The sparks and confetti fly as Aaron goes through the door to the sounds of ‘The Time (Dirty Bit)’ by the Black Eyed Peas. He’s then escorted up to the studio for his chat.
• 10.20pm “It’s phenomenal. I can’t believe I got on the show,” exclaims Aaron. A VT of his time with Faye follows.
• 10.23pm “I am quite stroppy,” admits Aaron. He’s admant he didn’t have a gameplan and that he was ‘himself’ in the house. Talking about Jem’s arrival, he says he thought she’d be nice until she told him he wasn’t fun, interesting, had no talent and she didn’t know why he was there.
• 10.27pm After watching his house highlights, Aaron says he’ll spend his £50,000 prize money on his son.
• 10.28pm Brian says he’ll be seeing us in January for Celebrity Big Brother and, after a quick look at the series best bits, Aaron emerges from the eye to soak up another round of fireworks and confetti.
