Geordie fitness instuctor and DJ Jay McKray has left the Big Brother 2011 house as runner-up in tonight’s live grand final.

The 27-year-old left the house to a cheering crowd after losing out to Aaron in the final vote. However, he did better than had been predicted by bookmakers, with most having him as third favourite to win.

His relationship fourth-placed housemate Louise Cliffe was the main topic of his interview. “She’s kept us on the level to be honest,” said Jay. “There was times when I found it hard, I was stressed out.”

He said he felt like it had been ‘a bit forced’ when they took their break, and that he’s a romantic at heart. “I had a lot of spare time so I turned in to tin foil man!” he joked.

Jay revealed that he ‘would say’ he’s in love with Louise and described her as a ‘wicked lass’.

Elsewhere, host Brian Dowling asked him about his desire for harmony in the house. “I got told when I went in, my ma told us, don’t kick off,” he explained.

Discussing food, Jay said he’s used to ‘seven or eight meals a day’ and that he’d ‘never eat’ a banana again after Harry’s shopping prank. “I’m half the man I was now I’ve come out, honestly,” he said.
