The following privacy statement applies only to this website (www.bbspy.co.uk, referred to hereafter as ‘bbspy’) and all associated websites and subdomains. It does not apply to any other website(s), including any external or third-party websites linked to from bbspy.

The terms ‘Twitter’ and ‘Facebook’ refer to the social networking websites located at http://www.twitter.com and http://www.facebook.com respectively. We cannot be held responsible for situations which arise from the collection of information by external or third-party websites.

User Information

There are some areas on bbspy where you may be asked to enter some of your personal details (e.g. email address). These include, but are not limited to, our comment areas and email form. We will never use such information irresponsibly or pass it on to third parties, except in cases where the law requires us to.

Cookies

A ‘cookie’ is an item of data stored on the user’s device containing information about their use of a website. To the best of our knowledge, the only uses of cookies in public areas of bbspy are as follows:

Comments – When commenting, we offer users a ‘remember’ option which, if selected, will save their details (e.g. name, email address) in cookies so they don’t have to re-enter them for future comments.
Polls – Every time a user votes in our polls, a cookie is set to remember their choice(s) and prevent them from voting again.

However, our content management system may set cookies our staff are unaware of. We regularly monitor the site to check for such cookies and will take action if we find any.

‘bbspy Profile’ user accounts

By signing up for and/or using a bbspy Profile account, you agree to allow us to send you email relating to your bbspy Profile account and associated features. We will only use information you give to us through your bbspy Profile account for associated features on bbspy.

Please note that certain general information you may save to your bbspy Profile account – such as your name, avatar/profile image and links to your social media accounts – may be made available to view publicly, although this will not include any sensitive information, such as contact details.

bbspy now offers users the option to comment using their Twitter or Facebook accounts. These features employ the companies’ APIs to gain access to their users’ data. Twitter and Facebook never allow third parties (including bbspy) access to their users’ passwords.

As with all other user information, we will never use any data you allow bbspy access to irresponsibly, or pass it on to third parties, except in cases where the law requires us to.

bbspy, Twitter and/or Facebook will set cookies on your device which are necessary for these features. Twitter and Facebook may also set additional cookies which we have no control over.

We allow third party companies to serve ads and/or collect certain anonymous information when you visit bbspy. These companies may use non-personally identifiable information (e.g. click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over) during your visits to this and other web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of greater interest to you. These companies typically use a cookie or third party web beacon to collect this information. Log Files
