George Lamb and Zezi Ifore to host BBLB

Channel 4 have confirmed that E4 Music presenters George Lamb and Zezi Ifore are the new hosts of BB spin-off show Big Brother's Little Brother.

They replace Dermot O'Leary, who left the show in January.

George said: "Imagine how excited someone would be if they were presenting Big Brother, well I'm just a little bit less excited than that but I'mstill extremely excited."

Zezi said: "This is preposterously good, I've always loved Big Brother - it's omnipresent, you can't help but get sucked in! And working alongside a lovely lamb too - George Lamb - ain't half bad either. Bring it on!"

Davina McCall will return to host the main shows. It is unclear if Big Mouth will be hosted by weekly guest presenters this year, or if On The Couch will return.

BBLB will be broadcast on E4 during weekdays and C4 on Sundays when it returns alongside Big Brother 9 in the summer.

New house pictures emerge

Ahh, The Daily Star. One day they make up the most ridiculous rumours, the next they print new pictures of the new Big Brother house. Yep, the newspaper has today printed new aerial shots of the garden in construction, and - as you can see to your right - a lot more work seems to have been done to it since Heat took their aerial pictures.

The walls have been painted different shades of green, and wacky shapes now protrude from them. The door frames have also recieved the angular treatment.

Also shown in the shot below is this year's pool, which has a similar, rectangular shape to last year's, except for the two corners that have been cut off at one end.

It wouldn't be the Daily Star if there wasn't a rumour though - and today's rumour is all about the theme of this year's bathroom.

They claim that the producers have 'splashed the cash' on a luxurious new bathroom 'that will make even the likes of Mr T, 50 Cent and P Diddy jealous'.

A 'posh marble' floor, gold taps, shower heads and sinks, and Versace-style decor are supposedly included in the room.

A worker who allegedly helped install the bathroom said: “When the housemates walk into this place they’ll think they’ve walked into Bling Palace.

“If this was on Through The Keyhole, the contestants would think it was Mr T or Nelly’s private bathroom.

“It’s the most expensive bathroom they’ve ever had but outside things are going to be less luxurious.”

The paper also claims that 16 housemates will enter the house when Big Brother 9 launches on June 5th.

We wonder how many of those are aliens?

Oh come on, surely they can do better than that...

OK, so we all know that the Daily Star are notorious for coming up with lots of false stories relating to Big Brother. However, today they have excelled even themselves with what is possibly the oddest rumour ever.

Today they are claiming that the "craziest housemates yet" will enter the house this year - and these crazy housemates are aliens.

No, we're not joking.

The article gets even odder when the paper claims that E.T. (of all aliens) will be one of this year's inmates.

A 'BB spokesman' (yeah right) told the Star: “If aliens land in the Big Brother house we would welcome these visitors.”

A 'source' added: “They’ve had some pretty odd creatures on the show in the past, such as Jade, Jonty and Nadia. Aliens would certainly not look out of place.”

And to top it off, they go on to claim that residents of Borehamwood, the location of the Big Brother house, have 'reported unusual objects in the skies' recently. One local said “I saw a bright light and another one joined it,” whilst another added: “I saw these balls of fire above me.”

We're not even going to ask you to treat this news with caution as it is ludicrous, but it seems that the Daily Star have finally lost it. If you don't believe us, you can read their article on their website.

Note to the Daily Star: if you're going to make up rumours, at least make them slightly feasible...

Virgin Media remains Big Brother's sponsor

It has been confirmed that Virgin Media will remain the sponsor of Big Brother for this summer's series of the show.

Virgin, who have sponsored BB since the eighth series last year, will focus on advertising the mobile phones arm of the company during BB9, however their other services such as broadband and television will also feature.

James Kydd, the company's marketing and brand executive, said: "Big Brother is still the biggest reality TV phenomenon on the box.

"When it's not being broadcast on Channel 4, we look forward to keeping fans up to date via our mobile, TV and web portal platforms.

"Big Brother is still immensely popular and resonates with the youth and popular culture in general today."

First house shots surface in Heat

Everyone's favourite gossip magazine, Heat, have included the first house pictures of the year in their new issue, showing arial shots of the Big Brother compound.

They have also revealed some new details surrounding the new series of the show, which will kick off on June 5th. Here are some scans of the article (click to enlarge):

Apparently the house has undergone a complete rebuild for the new series, and it will be much larger than last year's house. It is clear from their pictures that the garden is slightly bigger than the tiny garden from yesteryear. They also claim that there will be an outdoor bathroom this year, as well as a 'huge main living area'.

In other, non-house related news, Heat says that two new presenters are being recruited to take over from Dermot O'Leary on Big Brother's Little Brother this year, but guest presenters will remain for Big Mouth.

They go on to say that BB9 will feature fewer housemates than BB8, which had a record total of 24 contestants throughout its' run, and that the inmates will remain as 'demented, fascinating, freaky and amusing as ever'. This year's show will also supposedly feature less 'maverick gimmicks' such as the all-female house that last year's series launched with.

It all sounds good to us - we only hope that bosses have indeed learnt their lessons like Heat claim they have.

Davina's quitting again (apparently)

It was only a matter of time before another old favourite rumour of the tabloids was dug out again - and so it seems Big Mutha herself, Davina McCall, is quitting Big Brother again.

This time, the News of the World is claiming that the 40-year-old mother of three is leaving the show after Big Brother 9 ends this autumn to reinvent herself and become a full-time actor.

The paper claims that Michael Foster, who masterminded Billie Piper's transformation from popstar to actress, is Davina's new agent, after she allegedly cut ties with John Noel, who also represents ex-BB hosts Dermot O'Leary and Russell Brand.

A 'source close to Davina' told the paper: "She has finally realised the time is right to move on.

"After doing so many series of Big Brother, she's become seriously bored.

"She's very excited and convinced that Michael can turn her into a serious actor."

The NOTW article goes on to say that even Channel 4 are refusing to give her work outside of Big Brother - and that bosses believe 'the best of her presenting career is behind her'.

A 'Channel 4 insider' said: "Davina has had to make some very hard choices. There is an understanding at Big Brother that it's very unlikely she'll be back.

"How many times can she keep on saying, 'Big Brother House, this is Davina. You are live on Channel 4. Please do not swear.' This really is make or break time for her."

Previously after such claims, Davina hit back, claiming that she still loves the show and that she would only leave Big Brother if the show's producers wanted her out - but could the rumours be true this time around? We'll have to wait and see...
